Dr Deborah Clarke's Festschrift
Deborah Clarke was the Course Lecturer for the MSc in Neuroscience and the 1+3 Doctoral programme in Neuroscience. She both administered and taught on these programmes. This event is a celebration of her contribution to Oxford's graduate programme in Neuroscience which has an excellent record of achievement in terms of the publications and future careers of students who have graduated. The programme is highly regarded internationally and many alumni are now leading neuroscientists. The event will feature talks given by alumni and key figures in the Oxford Neuroscience community

Historic Oxford neuroanatomy teaching slides from Sir Wilfrid Le Gros Clark illuminate the foundations of modern neuroscience
https://www.dpag.ox.ac.uk/news/historic-oxford-neuroanatomy-teaching-slides-from-sir-wilfrid-le-gros-clark-illuminate-the-foundations-of-modern-neuroscience
A collection of historic teaching slides preserved by Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics at the University of Oxford offers fresh insight into the development of modern neuroscience and the enduring educational legacy of pioneering anatomist Sir Wilfrid Edward Le Gros Clark.
In a new paper published in the Journal of Anatomy, a group of undergraduate and graduate students from St John’s College examine selected specimens from Le Gros Clark’s neuroanatomical collection, which remains in the care of Oxford’s Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG). https://doi.org/10.1111/joa.70235
The paper, Shiva A. Nischal, Kush M. Kale, Katherine Tourigny, Mohammed Abuelem, Gretchen Greene, Rachel Walsh and Zoltán Molnár “Neuroanatomy education through the years: Revisiting the teaching slides used by Sir Wilfrid Edward Le Gros Clark,” was published online in the Journal of Anatomy in September 2026. https://doi.org/10.1111/joa.70235
The digitized collection of Le Gros Clark's teaching material is available at DOI: 10.25446/oxford.33257403.
The entire teaching material can be viewed on this webpage: https://learntech.medsci.ox.ac.uk/wordpress-history/slides/ as part of the History of Medical Sciences Project https://learntech.medsci.ox.ac.uk/wordpress-history/
