TogetherAsOne! Whether you want to play competitively or socially, you are welcome here. We are one club with two teams, and we play in two leagues.

Ospreys Wheelchair Rugby Team
Based in Aberavon, Port Talbot, we are a club committed to creating a space for disabled people of all ages and abilities. Ospreys WRC has been around since 2015, before that we were known as the South Wales Pirates and we were the first wheelchair rugby club in South Wales back in the late 1980’s. We still have some of the original players with us including Gareth Stokes who is now the Head Coach for Ospreys WR. GBWR Quads Super Series for players with upper limb impairment & GBWR 5s for those who don’t qualify for the quads. Whatever your age or disability our mission is to offer all levels of training from the beginners to the elite and provide full support to all who join the Ospreys family. Whether you want to just keep fit or take it to your next level and become a team member. Anything is possible if you believe in yourself…. Not sure it’s the right sport for you? Come and give it a ‘try’ and see for yourself by making your ‘goals’ reality. The opportunities are endless…

It’s a Paralympic Sport which is also known as Murderball or Quad Rugby

⚠️ Fake blood warning: battlefield casualty acting ahead!

What do some of our players get up to outside of Ospreys? Away from the court, Bruce keeps himself busy with a brilliant mix of activities.

From indoor bowls with the old boys and getting out on the mountain bike, to archery and even the occasional battlefield casualty acting, there’s never a shortage of things to get involved in!

For Bruce, it’s all about staying active and enjoying the company along the way. 👏

A little bit of Ospreys on the BBC!

Our Ospreys player Lily has been doing something a little different recently, taking on the role of stunt double for Gabs, the main character in the new BBC drama The Rapture.

Lily was involved in a number of scenes, including plenty of swimming and even a few falls along the way!

It’s a pretty cool opportunity and definitely something a bit different from what Lily is used to on the court. We’re sure her athleticism and determination came in handy though!

We’re really proud of Lily for taking on the challenge and can’t wait to see her hard work on screen.

So keep your eyes peeled when you watch The Rapture and see if you can spot Lily!

Well done, Lily!👏🏼

KARLEIGH IS BACK ON COURT!

Some moments in sport mean so much more than the result, and seeing Karleigh back on court last weekend was definitely one of them.

After such a challenging period and a significant deterioration in her condition following sepsis, Karleigh has had a long road of rehabilitation and uncertainty about when she would be able to get back to the sport she loves.

But last weekend, she pulled on the Ospreys shirt once again.

Karleigh competed in her first 4s tournament of the season, battled hard on court, gave everything for her team and showed the determination and fighting spirit we all know and love her for.

For everyone at Ospreys Wheelchair Rugby, having Karleigh back competing alongside her teammates was such a special moment.

Her journey has shown that recovery doesn’t always go to plan. There have been setbacks, difficult days and plenty of uncertainty along the way, but Karleigh has continued to show so much strength and resilience.

We honestly couldn’t be prouder to see her back doing what she loves.

A huge well done, Karleigh. What a comeback and what a player! 👏🏼

And a massive thank you to everyone who has supported Karleigh throughout her journey, especially her family, teammates, coaches, volunteers, staff and everyone who has been there for her along the way.

Welcome back, Karleigh. We’ve missed you. 💙🖤
