Special Touch is about the details that make a day feel personal, and that's where we put most of our care. The lighting that comes on as the sun drops. The layout that suits how your guests like to gather. The small things nobody asked for but everyone notices.

Sides up or sides down?

Up, and the tipi opens onto the garden. Guests drift in and out, daylight floods in and the party spills onto the lawn.

Down, and it closes around you. Fairy lights glowing on the canvas, everyone drawn in close, the evening getting louder.

Our Giant Hat tipis have their roots in northern Scandinavia.

The Sámi people built a shelter called a lavvu. It was designed to go up and come down quickly, because families moved with their reindeer herds through the seasons. A fire burned in the centre, and the opening at the top let the smoke out.

The Giant Hat design follows the same idea on a much bigger scale. That’s why there’s room for an open fire in the middle of ours, and why everyone ends up gathered around it by the end of the night.

As the sun goes down and the festoon lights come on, the tipi takes on a different feel. ✨

Fire bowls flicker, the music gets going and everyone starts to settle into the evening. Some are still around the table, some have a drink in hand, and others are already heading towards the dance floor.

That’s what we love about a tipi wedding or party. It gives everyone space to relax, eat, dance and make the evening their own.

Bunting overhead, string lights catching the last of the sunset, and guests spilling out onto the grass to keep the conversation going. It's one of our favourite moments of any wedding day, when the space just holds the whole evening together without anyone having to think about it.

There's a reason gardens like this work so well for tipi weddings. The walls give a sense of privacy, the greenery does the styling for you, and the light through canvas at golden hour is hard to beat. Bunting catching the breeze, guests spilling out onto the lawn, and everything feeling relaxed rather than staged.

It's one of our favourite kinds of setup: a space that already has character, so the tipis just settle right into it.
