Fiddlebop
Saturday 24 October - 7.30pm

Wales-based FiddleBop plays jazz-folk: from Hot Club Gypsy swing to jigs’n’reels, and beyond.

FiddleBop’s music is sophisticated but isn’t stuffy or pretentious. Is danceable and exciting but not rhythmically boring. Has plenty of go-for-it improvised solos but is still tuneful and melodic. They love what they play, and it shows!

FiddleBop will get your feet stomping and your heart thumping (in a good way, of course)

Adults: £12.00 | Under 15s: Free

Darlith Condry Lecture 2026
Sat / Sad 3 Oct / Hyd - 7.30pm
Carwyn Graves

The Welsh landscape, in all its variety, is at base just as much a human cultural creation as a natural phenomenon: its raw materials evolved alongside the humans that have lived there since the ice receded. In this lecture Carwyn will present the Welsh cultural lens on some of our familiar landscapes and ask how holding on to this lens can help with work to revivify Welsh landscapes in the future.

Carwyn is an author, public speaker, gardener and naturalist from Carmarthen. His book Tir: The Story of the Welsh Landscape (2024) takes a deep dive into the creation and ecology of different types of habitats within the Welsh landscape, while his publication Cynefin: Wisdom from a thousand years of Welsh Nature Poetry (2026) looks at the long cultural relationship between land and people. His works seeks to illustrate how language and food are woven together in Wales.

Tickets: £10

Mae’r tirlun Cymreig, yn ei holl amrywiaeth, yn gymaint o greadigaeth ddiwylliannol ddynol yn ei hanfod ag y mae’n ffenomenon naturiol: mae ei ddeunyddiau crai wedi esblygu law yn llaw â’r bobl sydd wedi byw yma ers i’r iâ gilio. Yn y ddarlith hon, bydd Carwyn yn cyflwyno’r lens diwylliannol Cymreig ar rai o’n tirluniau cyfarwydd, gan holi sut y gall dal ein gafael ar y lens hwn helpu gyda gwaith i ailfywiogi tirluniau Cymreig yn y dyfodol.

Mae Carwyn yn awdur, yn siaradwr cyhoeddus, yn arddwr ac yn naturiolwr o Gaerfyrddin. Mae The Story of the Welsh Landscape (2024) yn astudiaeth ddofn o greadigaeth ac ecoleg gwahanol fathau o gynefin oedd yn y tirlun Cymreig, ac mae ei gyhoeddiad Cynefin: Wisdom from a thousand years of Welsh Nature Poetry (2026) yn ystyried y berthynas ddiwylliannol rhwng tir a phobl. Mae ei waith yn ceisio dangos sut y mae iaith a bwyd wedi’u plethu i’w gilydd yng Nghymru.
