We spend hundreds of pounds every month putting on entertainment because we want people to have a good night, enjoy themselves and have something happening in the village.

We’re certainly not expecting medals for it 😂 — we just think it’s worth mentioning that FREE entertainment actually costs someone money to put on! 🤣

So we’ll keep doing what we do, supporting local entertainment and giving our customers plenty of reasons to come through the door. ❤️

❗️SATURDAY 25th JULY❗️

(A wee note from the band )
After a bit of a lengthy break, the guys from Midtown Riot are back. Featuring Kenny on the mic, Dale on the piano, Fraser on drums and Big Wull on the bass guitar. They return with new lead guitarist Davie G to rock you with their electric mix of rock and pop with a couple of their originals thrown in for good measure.
We’re all really excited to be back playing together and a few years of not really playing much together has made us realise how much we have missed not only the music but also spending time with friends. So it’ll be great to see our friends again at the Cross Keys.

Now that the dust has settled (and we’ve all recovered… slightly 😅), we just want to say a massive thank you to our incredible team for the mammoth shift they put in yesterday at Gala Day.

We genuinely have the best staff anyone could ask for. Many of them have been with us for years, showing loyalty, hard work and unwavering support through every busy weekend, event and Gala Day. We honestly couldn’t do it without them, and we’re so grateful to have such a fantastic team standing by our side year after year. ❤️

From pulling pints at lightning speed, keeping the bar running smoothly, dealing with endless queues and still managing to keep smiling (Seonaid smiles on the inside 🤣) – you were all amazing.

A special thank you also goes to DJ Angie, who did a fantastic job keeping the dance floor busy and the atmosphere buzzing all day long. 🎶💃🕺

To our staff, our DJ, and everyone who came along and helped make Gala Day another brilliant success – thank you. We appreciate every single one of you.

Now… who’s ready to do it all again next year? 😂🍻❤️

Happy Gala Day, can we just remind everyone of a few house rules before the chaos begins… 😅

No under 18s 🔞 we don’t care if you’re “basically 18”, “18 next week” or “all your pals are staying”. The answer is still no. 😅

🍺 Be nice to our bar staff.
They’re working flat out all day. Rude behaviour = you’ll be introduced to the door.

👆 No finger clicking, whistling or shouting “OI!” at the staff.
We have names… and functioning ears. It won’t get you served any quicker… in fact, you may suddenly become invisible. 👀😂

📝 Please know your order before you get to the bar.
Don’t wait until you’re standing at the bar to start a debate about who’s having what. It keeps the queue moving and gets everyone served quicker! 🤣

💷 Cash is king!
If you can pay by cash, we’d really appreciate it. The card machine works hard on Gala Day too… but unlike the bar staff, it occasionally has a wee meltdown! 😂

🏠 Please bear with us.
This is our busiest day of the year and we’re only a wee village pub. We’d love another four bar staff… but we’d have to stack them on top of each other. 😂

🚫 No bringing your own alcohol onto the premises. Leave it at home. If it’s brought onto our premises, it’ll be heading straight down the drain. 🍺➡️🚰

🚭 Drugs are for mugs.
The only lines we want to see today are the ones at the bar! 🍻 Save your money for pints instead. Anyone caught taking or dealing drugs on our premises will be removed immediately and barred. No exceptions.

🍻 If you’ve had enough, you’ve had enough.
Our staff have the final say. If you’re refused service, arguing with us won’t magically make you look any more sober. (We’ve heard every excuse before… “I’ve only had two!” 😂)

🚻 Please respect the toilets.
They’re toilets, not a nightclub, smoking shelter or somewhere to hold a committee meeting. Please leave them in a decent state for the next person. 🚽😂
