Someone called the shop this afternoon and asked for two gold number 5 balloons to be blown up and they’d collect before closing…

No one came to collect them.

I’m hoping it’s an honest mistake and that whoever it was simply forgot. If it was you, please send me a message as I can open the shop up tomorrow for you to come and collect.

Unfortunately this has happened a few times now and helium is really expensive. I can’t afford to blow balloons up and not get anything for them. So, going forward, balloons will only be blown up once money has been taken. You can still put them aside in advance, but unless you pay in advance, they won’t be blown up ready for you.

It’s always been a trust thing. I like to trust that people reserving things will collect, but so many times it doesn’t happen and I need to learn from this and put stricter rules in place.

My staff will not blow it up even if you say you know me (they get that a lot - I know Sandra, she does it for me etc etc).

The new Legami Halloween pens have arrived… lots and lots of them!! However… there’s a twist…

The red one is super super rare! The pens come in a little coffin for you to discover what colour lies inside.

For some of you, I know that you won’t like this, so I’ve opened up lots of them and put them on the stands. The lucky people yesterday who got the reds were delighted 🤩

There’s only a 1 in 25 chance of finding them… but hurry, these pens are flying out of here faster than a witch on a broomstick!

These cards by Simon Drew have been flying out since they arrived! And you all know me - it’s all or nothing, hence the massive pink stand of them!

Lots of giggles from customers (and staff!) as they’re having a look through them!

A debit card has been found outside the shop and handed in with the initials A W B - if you’ve lost yours, it’s safe with us, though please bring some form of ID as we won’t hand the card over without being sure it’s going to the right person.

Yesterday was an absolute blast! The best atmosphere, the best of company, the best industry! We all just had so much fun.

I’m in London for the Retas, having been shortlisted for Best Greetings Card retailer in Wales again… having won it a few years back, I’m just happy to be here for the craic with my fellow retailers.
