Last night, Gemma Roberts from Hope Prevails talked about the effect of the many forms of domestic abuse, how people endure & survive, and the support that is available.
Even though this is a difficult subject there can be a positive outcome.
Gemma’s thought provoking talk left us feeling both admiration & deep emotion.
We were also delighted to give her donations of toiletries for the women’s refuge in Preston.

For decades, the Women's Institute (WI) has campaigned to make sure women and girls can live free from violence and abuse.

Your donation will help us create a network of WI No More Violence Ambassadors across our movement, who can help start conversations, challenge misconceptions and signpost people to support.

Join us on 11th November, 10am–2pm, as we come together to remember, reflect and share community conversations.

The day will include guest speakers, remembrance activities, refreshments, and the opportunity to connect with others in our community.

Today, we want to say a very special THANK YOU to the wonderful Doreen and all the lovely ladies from the Ingol Women’s Institute! 👏❤️

These amazing ladies have been putting their knitting skills to fantastic use, lovingly creating beautiful handmade poppies in a range of colours for Remembrance Day. 🌺💜💛🤍

Each poppy represents the time, care and dedication that these wonderful ladies have put into making something truly special for our community.

These lovely knitted poppies will be available at The Intact Centre in the lead up to Remembrance Day, giving everyone the opportunity to wear a poppy and show their support while remembering those who have served and sacrificed so much. ❤️

It’s people like Doreen and the ladies from Ingol WI who remind us just how special our local community really is. Giving up their own time, sharing their talents and coming together to do something thoughtful for others is exactly what community spirit is all about! 🥰
