Photography can help show the good work businesses are already doing. 📷

I recently photographed a charity day at a local tattoo studio, where the team used their skills to raise money for Ruddi’s Retreat.

It was great to see a local business bringing people together to support a good cause and give something back to the community.

I captured a mixture of the tattooing, the people involved, the atmosphere and the smaller moments throughout the day.

Photographs from events like this can be used to share what happened, thank supporters, raise awareness of the charity and promote future fundraising events.

I'd love to see more local businesses putting on events like this, and I'd be happy to help capture their stories.

There's more to photography than the camera you use. 📱

A Photo Walk is an opportunity to get outdoors, explore interesting local places, enjoy nature and spend time being creative with a group of like-minded people. 🌿

It's also a chance to start seeing the world differently, noticing the light, spotting interesting details and discovering how a small change in your position can transform a photograph.

We'll explore things like:
📷 Composition — what to include in your photograph and what to leave out.
💡 Light — how it changes the look and feel of an image.
👀 Perspective — how changing your angle or getting closer can reveal a different view.

Whether you're using your phone or a camera, I'll offer practical guidance to help you develop your skills and become more confident with your photography.

For those using a DSLR camera, we can also explore aperture, shutter speed and ISO, helping you understand your settings and build confidence shooting in manual mode.

You don't have to choose between enjoying photography and learning more about it. A Photo Walk gives you the opportunity to do both, at your own pace, while sharing the experience with others.

A new photography walk around Aspley, Huddersfield. 📷

Join me on Sunday 11th October for a relaxed walk exploring a mix of woodland, the River Colne, bridges, interesting structures and architecture around the University of Huddersfield.

We'll take our time along the route, stopping at different locations to look for interesting photographs and practice our photography.

The walk is suitable for different experience levels, and you can bring either a camera or your phone. I'll provide practical guidance throughout, helping you understand your settings, composition and different ways of approaching a scene.

Capturing the people behind HerSpace. 📸

Last week I photographed HerSpace Evenings-Huddersfield at Accu Stadium.

I wanted the photographs to show more than just the space itself. The people, atmosphere and little details all help communicate what HerSpace is about and give potential visitors a better feel for the environment.

From natural portraits to photographs showing the space and the team in action, the aim was to create a varied set of images that HerSpace can continue using across their online presence.

It was a pleasure to spend the evening with Rachael and the team. Thank you for such a warm welcome!

Global Greyhound Walk 2026 🐾📷

I took my camera along to the Global Greyhound Walk and captured lots of moments, lots greyhounds meeting new friends and spending time with their humans.
