Zero to Landfill Through our recycling and waste solutions, we help businesses to reduce their environmental impact and reach their sustainability goals.

About Us at Devon Contract Waste

Devon Contract Waste (DCW) has been at the forefront of commercial waste management in the South West since 1989. Our modern fleet of specialist vehicles minimise carbon emissions, while providing an efficient and reliable waste collection service. Alongside our commitment to sustainability, we are passionate about giving back to the community and proudly sponsor two of our regions' renowned sports clubs, Torquay United FC and Exeter Chiefs. In October 2023, DCW became part of SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK. This acquisition has strengthened our capabilities, allowing us to offer an even wider range of recycling and waste management solutions to our commercial customers across the region. We continue to invest in innovative recycling technologies and waste reduction to support a greener future for the South West. For more information visit: www.dcw.co.uk

Last week for International E-Waste Day, we connected EDF with Dartmoor Zoological Society to give 30 monitors and 15 keyboards a second life. 🖥️

When EDF's Dalkia team got in touch about rehoming surplus IT equipment at the Exeter office, we knew just the place. Minimising environmental impact is at the heart of Dartmoor Zoo’s work, and the donation means more of its resources can go towards animal welfare and conservation. 🐾 🌿

A big thank you to EDF and the Dalkia team for making it happen. 🙌

🏉 Backing the Chiefs, on and off the pitch!

As a proud partner of Exeter Chiefs Official, DCW is always behind the team – and Sunday’s Investec Champions Cup clash against Toulouse was certainly one to remember!

The Chiefs put in a fantastic attacking performance against six-time European champions Toulouse, with 13 tries and a nail-biting finish in a thrilling 43–40 encounter.

A huge effort from the team! 👏 We’re proud to be part of the Chiefs’ journey this season.

🌿 We’re proud to help Devon businesses manage their waste more sustainably.

From sending food waste to Langage Farm, where it’s transformed into energy and compost, to helping businesses divert more waste from landfill, we’re always looking for ways to make better use of the resources we collect and reduce environmental impact. ♻️

Today is the ninth International E-Waste Day. This year’s focus is Fast Tech, the small and inexpensive electronic products that maybe bought on impulse and then often discarded without a second thought.

In an office this might look like charging cables, mini fans, wired headphones or USB adapters. 🔌 🎧

Fast tech is a unique challenge because these products are rarely thought of as electronic waste, and end up in the general bin. 🗑️

At DCW, our ReTech service with Blackmore UK offers responsible, secure and compliant tech disposal. 🤝

Where possible, we refurbish old IT and donate it to local organisations, helping to prevent digital exclusion. Anything that can't be refurbished is recycled, making sure that nothing is sent to landfill. ♻️ 💡

Is your business’s recycling ready for the end of 2026? 🍁♻️

October is a good time to take a fresh look at how your business manages its waste and recycling — before the busy end-of-year period gets underway.

For retail and hospitality businesses in particular, putting the right systems in place now can help make waste management simpler and more efficient during the Christmas and New Year rush.

And for micro-businesses with fewer than 10 employees, there’s another important reason to review your recycling now.

From 31 March 2027, micro-businesses must comply with the Simpler Recycling regulations.

So, whether you’re looking to improve your current recycling arrangements or make sure you’re ready for the new regulations, now is a good time to get started.

How Waste Management Services Support Sustainable Business Practices 05/10/2026

“Ask a business leader ten years ago where waste ranked on their list of priorities, and it probably wasn’t near the top..... Today that’s a much harder position to hold.”

Waste management is becoming a much bigger consideration for businesses.

This article looks at some of the reasons why waste management is becoming more important, including:

📄 Regulations becoming stricter

Did you know that food waste costs the hospitality and food service sector £3.2 billion every year- that’s an average of £10k per outlet! 🤯*

And food waste is not just costly for business. It has an impact on the environment too, especially when it's disposed of incorrectly. 🚯

Today is the 7th International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (IDAFLW). This year’s theme is Transformative Potential of Reducing Food Loss and Waste.

The good news is that food waste doesn’t have to go to waste. 🌱

We help businesses manage their food waste responsibly, efficiently and innovatively.
The food waste collected from our customers can be used to produce energy and compost, helping to supply power to Langage Farm and its factory, while supporting healthy land and farm animals. ♻️
