A New Chapter....

An exciting next step for Worcester Lloyd.

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of George Neocleous and Pete Allen as Directors of Worcester Lloyd Limited.

Having both played an integral part in the practice and its continued development, their appointments mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Worcester Lloyd.

Working alongside our existing Directors and wider team, George and Pete will help shape the continued growth and development of the practice, while building on the experience and values that have established Worcester Lloyd over the years.

As the practice continues to evolve, our focus remains the same β€” delivering great architecture and engineering, building lasting relationships and providing a personal service to every client.
We’re looking forward to what the future holds.

From feasibility to reality 🏑

A great example of how an initial design develops from an idea on paper, through visualisation, and ultimately into the finished home.

This project transformed the existing property with a contemporary new look, combining crisp white render, dark detailing and natural timber cladding to create a home that feels completely refreshed while working with the original building.

Feasibility β†’ Visual β†’ Completed.

The beauty of a kitchen often comes down to the details, and how they work together.

For this project, we explored a number of different material palettes to see how the same architectural space could take on a completely different character.

Deep blues.
Natural timber.
Rich greens.
Warm burgundy.
Dark stone.

The layout remains the same, but changes in cabinetry, worktops, splashbacks and finishes completely transform the feel of the room.

The large central island anchors the space, while full-height cabinetry keeps the kitchen clean and considered. Rooflights bring natural light deep into the plan, balancing the darker finishes and creating a bright, contemporary space.

Good design isn’t simply about choosing what looks best individually, it’s about finding the combination that feels right as a whole.

Which palette would you choose for your home? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7?

Do I need an architect or a structural engineer first?

For most extensions and renovations, your architect will be the first point of contact, helping to shape the design and guide it through planning.

Your structural engineer then ensures the design can be safely and efficiently built.

At Worcester Lloyd, both disciplines work together from the outset, helping to reduce redesigns, unexpected compromises and unnecessary costs.

Would you believe this is the same home? πŸ‘€

What began as a modest single-storey property has been completely transformed into a spacious, light-filled family home.

By reworking the existing layout, extending the rear and unlocking the unused roof space, we were able to introduce:

β€’ A generous open-plan kitchen and living space
β€’ Large areas of glazing connecting the home to its surroundings
β€’ Valuable new accommodation within the roof
β€’ A characterful rear extension that complements the original brickwork

This project is a great example of why you should never underestimate the potential already within an existing property. With the right design, even a relatively modest home can be completely reimagined.

Swipe to see the transformation - and let us know which before and after surprised you the most.

All in the Detail.

The difference between a good space and a great one is rarely found in the big gestures.

It's the carefully considered joinery. The way natural light fills a room. The materials you choose. The proportions you don't consciously notice - but always feel.

At Worcester Lloyd, we believe exceptional architecture is built on thousands of thoughtful decisions that come together to create homes that feel effortless, timeless and uniquely yours.

Because great design isn't about following trends. It's about creating spaces that work beautifully today, tomorrow and for years to come.

If you're thinking about extending, renovating or building your dream home, we'd love to help bring your vision to life.

Planning Permission: 5 Common Myths

Planning permission is one of the most misunderstood parts of any building project.

Every week we speak to homeowners who have been given advice by friends, neighbours or online forums that simply isn't correct.

The reality is that every property, every site and every proposal is different.

That's why taking the time to understand the planning process before you design can save time, money and unnecessary frustration.

Swipe through to discover five of the most common planning myths we hear, and the truth behind them.

If you're unsure whether your project needs planning permission, we'd be happy to help.

It's not the size that matters. It's how you use it.

When people start planning an extension or renovation, it's easy to think that more space is the answer. In reality, it's often about making better use of the space you already have.

A well-thought-out layout can completely transform the way your home feels and functions, without necessarily adding more square metres.

The best homes aren't always the biggest. They're the ones that have been designed with purpose.

We're talking about floor plans... obviously.

If you're thinking about making changes to your home, we'd love to hear your ideas.
