OAK Homeopathy

I used to spend half my life sitting shivering by the side of the bike practice trail armed with a packet of plasters and a bottle of water for my thirsty little mountain biker to finish leaping about on his bike. Homework and rugby drew us away from it and it was brilliant to see how much has changed and grown up around that bike trail and hostel.

The most lovely thing about being a small business is connecting in with all the clever people with brilliant ideas who live and work near me. I met Lucy from who has a gorgeous retreat dome up in the hills above Crieff, she met Helen Helen and now they’re having a firewalk on 19th November! 🔥

Ange Baker | Social Media Coach & Manager spoke to me about how she can help me, I got to hear about how Tomnah'a Team and Nowhere Sauna work alongside the croft. Also caught up with in the shop where I bought a proper hot chocolate from Glen Lyon Coffee Roasters and John Castley cinnamon bun.

As poor quality products in supermarkets become increasingly expensive and homogenous, high streets like Crieff, Comrie and Dunkeld and gorgeous farm shops like this one at Comrie Croft are a much better, more interesting and friendly place to buy the things I need. Talking of which - off to get my young man a little something from Comrie Croft Bikes for his stocking after seeing he’s dusted off his his bike and put roof bars on his car 🚵

Now here’s an interesting idea!!

Say hello to Cornwall Council’s Dragonfly Squad! Working outdoors comes with a few challenges, including some very determined biting insects. So a Cormac environment team came up with a rather unusual solution - dragonfly hats. Operative Harry Blake had the idea to use the decoys to keep the biters at bay. The team reckons they’ve worked a treat, with no need for insect repellent. #cornwall #dragonflysquad

Crieff has an insane number of really good places to eat and drink and some excellent local producers for somewhere so small. I am honoured to be invited to join the line-up of people hosting events during the Crieff Food and Drink Festival put together by Experience Crieff.

If you want to learn how to make healthy probiotic, low calorie, non-alcoholic cocktails to wow your friends at parties, come along to my Kombucha Masterclass on Tuesday 13th October, 6.30-8.30pm.

Breastmilk contains a phenomenal number of micro nutrients and breastfeeding is an incredible feedback loop between the mother and the baby adjusting the nutritional and microbial content of the milk to the baby’s needs at each feed. When i have been working with people I couldn’t help but notice the link between gut health and general health, particularly mental and emotional health. So helping new mums who want to do this to get through the tricky patches so they can continue to feed for as long as they want to is something I am passionate about. If you are a new mum looking for people at the same stage as you have a look at the Breast Buddies website and find out where your nearest drop-in session is. If it’s Crieff it would be lovely to meet you. 💗
