Open Farm Sunday is almost here! 🚜

Join us on Sunday 7th June, 10am–4pm for a free, fun-filled family day out at Rhug Estate.

Here's what's on:
🐑 Sheepdog demos – 10:30am, 1:30pm & 3:30pm
✂️ Sheep shearing demos – 11:30am & 2:30pm
🚜 Tractor rides – 10:30am–3:30pm
🚜 Vintage tractors – here all day
🏰 Inflatables – here all day
🛍️ Craft stalls – here all day
🏍️ Tractor run from Ruthin – arriving approx. 12pm, raising money for Blood Bikes.

It's completely free to attend, just come along and enjoy the day. We'd love to see you there! 🌿

Say hello to one of our newest members of the Rhug herd. 🦬

We've had two baby bison arrivals on the estate over the last couple of weeks - this is one of them. You'll have to come and do the Bison Walk to see the other. If you're around this half term, we'd love to see you.
We can't promise they'll come and say hello - but we can promise it's worth the walk.

We wanted to share something that really moved us this week. ❤️

Jack and Harvey, brothers and potato merchants from Wrexham, are taking on an incredible challenge this Saturday 30th May - walking 57 miles non-stop from Wrexham to Barmouth, carrying a sack of potatoes the entire way.

They're doing it for their dad, who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, raising money for Prostate Cancer UK. They've already raised an incredible £11,000, and they're not done yet.

Their route takes them right past Rhug Estate, and they'll be stopping in on Saturday, so if you're here this weekend, make sure you give them the welcome they deserve. And if you spot them on the road between Wrexham and Barmouth, give them a beep and a wave, every bit of encouragement counts when you're 30 hours in with no sleep and a sack of potatoes on your back.

Rhug Estate organic meat on your BBQ this bank holiday? Yes please!

Here's what we're thinking - bison burgers (find them in our freezer in the back of the shop, alongside plenty of bison steaks too!) for something a bit special, Rhug Organi chicken wings marinated in a spicy chorizo marinade, burgers assembled with chilli jam, and everything finished with something from our brand new Made for Meat sauces. Just landed in the farm shop and they are good. All washed down with a Rhug Estate organic lager (or something lighter)

Our Bird Watching Walk this Saturday was a brilliant morning - a little windy, but that didn't stop some incredible sightings! 🐦

Highlights included Tree Creepers, Pied Flycatchers, and the star of the show - a baby Tawny Owl, which is an incredibly rare sight! A huge thank you to Keith Offord for leading the walk, and to everyone who joined us!
..apologies to our morning walkers though, the Tawny Owlet saved its appearance for the afternoon! 🦉
