🔥 TOP DOWN LIGHTING – STARTS FROM THE BOTTOM UP! 🔥

Did you know that the way you light your wood-burning stove can make a big difference to how efficiently it gets going?

With the Top Down Lighting Method, you build your fire from the bottom up, but light it at the top! 🔥

✅ 1. Less smoke on start-up – A cleaner burn from the moment you light your fire.

✅ 2. Heats the flue faster – Helping establish a good chimney draught.

✅ 3. Gets your stove up to temperature quicker – Reducing the time spent in the inefficient start-up phase.

This unit is 25 years old, we have serviced it for 14 of those years.
Goes to show if you buy well and look after it then things can last.

If you have a draughty flue then get one of these !
A chimney sheep, 🐑 made from sheep’s wool and has an umbrella handle so you don’t forget to remove it before lighting your fire 🔥

Who knew you could get white chocolate Hobnobs !

Four large bags of soot in one day, that’s the most I have ever taken out in one day in the 13 years of sweeping.
Don’t forget to book your stoves on for a sweep and service as work is booking into November.

Don’t forget to check your carbon monoxide detector.
This one was six months out of date, all part of our service when you book a sweep and service with us.
Currently booking into October / November.

Face says it all ! 😂

Some lovely views toady whilst working for Tullie House museum.
Fantastic place to visit, if you haven’t been for a while it’s well worth a trip, lucky enough to be working in there ensuring all chimneys are safe and in good state of repair.

Service and sweep and a new rope seal made and fitted to flue pipe.
These nails took a bit of removing from what should be moving parts 😂.
All good to go and ready for winter.

No matter how much or how little you use your fire it is always best practice to have it inspected every season.
This fire looked well until around 3m up and a large hole had appeared with bricks missing.
I have never brought loft insulation down whilst sweeping so a few bricks are most definitely missing.
Do not use sign issued and repairs will be made.
