Henbant
Agriwilding farm, Campsite and Venue. Connecting people to nature, food, community & themselves. Croeso/Welcome to Henbant.
Henbant is 80 acres of woodland, pasture, lakes and streams, nestled between the mountains of Snowdonia and the sea and with a view of both. We are a regenerative agriculture farm using Permaculture and Holistic Management to create a productive farm that creates soil, food and community and that, most importantly, is just a lovely place to be.

BECOMING A REGENERATIVE FARMER 2027 — BOOKINGS ARE OPEN!
What if we could build a different kind of future? One where farming restores nature, grows wonderful food, creates meaningful livelihoods and helps communities thrive?
And what if we could do it together?
We’re SO excited to be opening bookings for our 2027 Becoming a Regenerative Farmer programme here at Henbant.
This is so much more than a farming course.
Nine months of learning, questioning, experimenting, dreaming and doing. Learning from some of the most inspiring farmers and thinkers in the agroecological world, alongside a wonderful community of people who want to make a difference.
At the heart of the course is a deceptively simple question: what do you really, really want?
What kind of life do you want to live? What do you want your work to mean? What kind of world do you want to help create?
Using a Holistic Management approach, we’ll help you develop your own holistic context, understanding what really matters to you and using that to guide your decisions.
We’ll explore everything from soils, livestock and agroforestry to making a living, designing resilient farms and building projects that actually work.
But perhaps the most important part is finding your people. People to share ideas with, learn alongside and help make your dreams happen.
We’ve seen students create farms, start incredible projects, change careers and find entirely new directions in life. We absolutely love being part of those journeys.
You don’t need to own a farm. Just bring your curiosity, enthusiasm and a desire to be useful in this changing world.
Nine months of learning, March–November 2027.
Three residential gatherings at Henbant, North Wales.
Online-only places also available.
If you’ve been dreaming about doing something different, perhaps this is your moment.
We would absolutely LOVE to have you join us.
Find out more and book through the link in our bio, or at henbant.org/brf.
Please share this with anyone you think might love it!

Should we get a peacock (or two)….
01/10/2026
Paun (Welsh for peacock)..
I love paun. There is something wonderfully unnecessary about them — birds that have somehow evolved to be ridiculous, bold and completely flamboyant, carrying a great fan of shimmering eyes simply because they can. We sometimes talk as though excess is a particularly human failing, but nature clearly enjoys a bit of exuberance too: flowers make more colour than they need, birds sing into empty mornings, and paun strut about looking impossible. I even love their strange, wild calls. Of course, they could also be deeply annoying, wake everyone up, poo on things and contribute very little beyond spectacle. But there are some for sale this weekend… so, should Henbant have paun? Yes or no? Vote on Instagram, or email [email protected] — tune in next week to see whether practicality or flamboyance wins.

I'm SO looking forward to this one. Please do join us for what will be a fantastic evening at Henbant.
We’ll share supper together from 6pm, with Henbant beef or vegetable stew, before the film starts at 7.30pm. Afterwards, we’ll stay together for an open conversation about farming, nature, wilding and what the future of our countryside might look like.
Derek vs Derek tells the funny, moving and very timely story of two neighbouring Devon farmers — both called Derek — with very different ideas about the land.
Derek Banbury is an intensive dairy and beef farmer. His neighbour, Derek Gow, is turning his farm over to nature and rewilding. As tempers fray, wild animals escape and the landscape begins to change, the two Dereks clash over farming, wildlife and what the British countryside should be for.
But it’s also a wonderfully human film about neighbours, disagreement, friendship and the possibility of finding common ground.
Come and eat, watch and join the conversation. We'll also give you an update on where we have got to with the Henbant Beaver Project🌱🐄🦫
Rwy'n edrych ymlaen yn aruthrol at y digwyddiad hwn. Ymunwch â ni am noson wych yn Henbant.
Byddwn yn mwynhau swper gyda'n gilydd o 6pm ymlaen – stiw cig eidion neu lysiau o Henbant – cyn i'r ffilm ddechrau am 7.30pm. Wedi hynny, byddwn yn aros gyda'n gilydd i gael sgwrs agored am ffermio, natur, adfer natur (rewilding) a sut olwg allai fod ar ddyfodol ein cefn gwlad.
Mae *Derek vs Derek* yn adrodd stori ddoniol, deimladwy ac amserol iawn am ddau ffermwr cymdogol o Ddyfnaint – y ddau o'r enw Derek – sydd â syniadau gwahanol iawn am y tir.
Mae Derek Banbury yn ffermwr llaeth a chig eidion dwys. Mae ei gymydog, Derek Gow, yn trawsnewid ei fferm er budd natur ac yn adfer y byd gwyllt arni. Wrth i dymerau gynhesu, anifeiliaid gwyllt ddianc a'r dirwedd ddechrau newid, mae'r ddau Derek yn gwrthdaro ynghylch ffermio, bywyd gwyllt a diben cefn gwlad Prydain.
Ond mae hefyd yn ffilm hynod ddynol am gymdogion, anghytundeb, cyfeillgarwch a'r posibilrwydd o ddod o hyd i dir cyffredin.
Dewch i fwyta, gwylio ac ymuno â'r sgwrs. Byddwn hefyd yn rhoi'r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i chi am gynnydd Prosiect Afancod Henbant🌱🐄🦫
Introducing Electro Wolves…
We used to live in a land of bears and wolves. Their presence kept grazing animals in tight, moving groups — intense bursts of grazing, trampling and pooing, followed by long periods of rest.
That rhythm helped create living soils, diverse vegetation and thriving ecosystems.
We removed the predators, simplified the landscape and fenced everything into fixed fields. There’s an old saying that cattle should never hear the church bells twice from the same field — a lovely way of saying: keep them moving.
We’ve been trying to do that for years with electric fences. It works on our productive pasture, but gets much harder in woods, agroforestry and an increasingly wild Henbant.
So this week our cattle started wearing virtual-fencing collars.
A sound warns them when they approach the edge of their grazing area. If they keep going, they get a small electrical pulse. They learn very quickly to respond to the sound.
But, Remote control cows?
I’m not a huge fan of technology, and I don’t think a more beautiful world necessarily needs more of it. But here’s the dilemma: these collars allow us, in some small way, to recreate the predator pressure we’ve removed.
Could technology help us restore ecosystems so successfully that one day real predators return — and we no longer need the technology?
Perhaps our task isn’t to invent our way out of nature, but to use our ingenuity to find our way back in.
Join us this Friday night for a meal and a Beautiful Film, the Nettle Dress and we will be joined for a Q+A with the maker. Its actually a whole day event with two fantastic films (Woman Grows Jeans) and a farm tour. But if you just pick one part, this is beautiful.
Dewch i ymuno â ni nos Wener i fwynhau pryd o fwyd a ffilm hyfryd, *The Nettle Dress*, a chyfle i holi'r gwneuthurwr. Digwyddiad sy'n ymestyn dros y diwrnod cyfan ydyw mewn gwirionedd, yn cynnwys dwy ffilm wych (*Woman Grows Jeans*) a thaith o amgylch y fferm. Ond os mai dim ond un rhan rydych chi'n ei dewis, mae hon yn ffilm hyfryd.
We can all have loads of fun at a really funny, engaging and maybe a little silly show about pirates!
Next Friday we're hosting these lot at Henbant with option to join us from 6 pm for a lush community meal before the show or just come along for bums on seats at 7:30 pm.
