He is a retired emergency services advanced driver and advanced motorcyclist, and previously delivered high standard training at the Scottish Police College in Tulliallan. Gordon’s vast on-road experience as a driver and motorcyclist, alongside his teaching methods, make him an appealing instructor. It is Gordon’s aim to teach drivers using tailored teaching methods and share his driving knowledge to encourage each student to reach their full potential in becoming safe and considerate drivers. For learner drivers, the support offered will encourage you to become a confident driver who is well prepared for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) driving test. More importantly, after passing your test, not only will you be confident, but you will also be safe on the road. Gordon offers tuition to –
• Learner drivers with no driving experience.
• Learner drivers seeking to develop and consolidate skills already learned elsewhere (family / friends / other driving instructors).
• Drivers seeking to improve confidence.
• Drivers seeking a review of their current driving skills i.e. a driving assessment followed by feedback, and where necessary, methods to improve. To reach your full potential in becoming a confident and safe driver, learn to drive with Gordon at DRIVE.

I will be away this week and next, recommencing lessons on Monday 14th September.
Over this period I will not be providing lessons and will not have access to my work phone.

DEFENSIVE DRIVING
A common phrase often heard at incidents on the road is “I saw it coming a mile off!”
My question is “What did you do about it?”
What is defensive driving?
It is a set of driving skills that allows you to defend yourself and others against possible incidents caused by other drivers, road conditions or weather conditions.
If you maintain good all-round observations, you will spot potential hazards early. Once you have identified a potential hazard and decided what to do safely, ACT.
Defensive drivers are able to avoid or prevent dangers on the road by using good observations and safe driving practices.
Set the example.
