My interest in homeopathy began when like many mothers I wanted a gentle, safe and natural way of treating my children. I studied for four years as a classical homeopath at Purton House college, graduating in 2004. I then did a post graduate Orion course in advanced homeopathy with the Contemporary College of Homeopathy
For the past ten years I have run a homeopathy clinic for homeless people in H

An HRI and University of Bristol collaborative systematic review on homeopathy for tonsillitis has now been published in the European Journal of Integrative Medicine, finding associations with symptom relief, reduced infection frequency, and lower antibiotic use, with no safety concerns identified across the included studies. With antimicrobial resistance a growing global health challenge, evidence on alternatives to routine antibiotic prescribing is of increasing relevance. Well-powered studies with standardised outcome measures are now needed to build on these findings.

I was proud to represent the Society on World Homeopathy Day, and to mark Samuel Hahnemann’s birthday at the London College of Homeopathy reception at the House of Lords.
The following day, at their conference, I had the opportunity to speak about the work of our SidebySide clinic team - a group of experienced, newly qualified, and student homeopaths working together to support a diverse community.
It was a meaningful couple of days - a chance to reflect on the roots of our profession, and the ways it continues to be expressed in practice today.

Sleep well. Two simple words. How often have you said that to a friend or loved one? Unfortunately, surveys consistently show that around a third of people don’t get a good night’s sleep. The amount of sleep that people are getting is dropping too, in both adults and children. That’s a worry, as getting a good night’s sleep is crucial for physical and mental wellbeing. In fact, sleep is as important for good health as diet and exercise.
Sleep is an essential function. It allows your body and mind to recharge and restore energy levels. Good sleep improves your brain performance, mood, and health. It helps the body stave off diseases, process information, and undergo a number of maintenance processes amongst other things. Without enough sleep, the brain cannot function properly. It’s importance can’t be stressed enough.
Take this opportunity to think about your sleep. Do you get enough sleep? How is the quality of your sleep? Start by creating a relaxing sleep environment and establish a routine, as poor sleep hygiene can often be a cause of sleep problems. Things like going to bed and getting up at the same time can help with this, as can avoiding caffeine and tech before bedtime. There can of course be underlying issues which are making it hard for you to sleep, so don’t be afraid to seek professional help to talk through these issues and look for natural, sustainable ways to support you in getting better sleep.
Good quality sleep lays the foundations for good health and wellbeing, so start to prioritise and protect your sleep today.
Let’s improve our health together.
