🌽 Is your high-moisture corn (HMC) getting too dry?
In a drought year, corn can move from “ready” to “too dry” quickly. And once HMC gets too dry, it can become harder to process and pack properly, increasing the risk of trapped oxygen, heating, spoilage and dry matter losses.
So, what can you do if your HMC is already too dry? And how much water should you add?
Find practical answers in our latest article and learn how to protect the feed value of dry, drought-stressed HMC ➡️ https://tinyurl.com/394c7u75

If late grass is worth cutting, it’s worth protecting. 🌱
When forage stocks are short, every extra tonne can matter.
But late-cut grass brings specific preservation challenges that can put its feeding value at risk, such as losing dry matter, protein and feed value.
⭐ Discover how to protect late-cut grass silage and make every tonne count.

Good silage doesn’t happen by chance. It takes attention at every step 🚜
Our MAGNIVA technical support team is out in the field working alongside farmers to better understand what’s happening in their bunker.
🔍 Assessing the silage face, monitoring temperature and pH, and looking at key management practices can provide valuable information to help farmers preserve silage quality and get more from the forage they have produced.
⭐ Because quality forage is the foundation of quality feed.
And that’s what MAGNIVA is about: not only providing silage inoculant solutions, but bringing technical expertise and practical support directly to the farm.

🌽 Drought put corn silage to the test in France.
Across the country, a lot of corn silage was produced under drought conditions, with both yield and quality affected on many farms. However some farms, like the one featured here, were fortunate enough to achieve a good corn yield despite the difficult season.
Now, the focus shifts from the field to the silo 🚜
Having worked hard to produce a strong corn crop in a challenging year, this farm recognised the importance of preserving as much of that value as possible through the ensiling process and the feed-out period, which is why they chose MAGNIVA.
Whether corn yields are good or the crop has been affected by drought stress, the need is the same: proper ensiling to maintain quality as much as possible, support efficient fermentation, reduce heating and spoilage, limit dry matter losses, and help secure feed stocks for the months ahead.
When drought challenges every corn acre, taking control of your corn silage in the silo matters more than ever.

Samples taken just 1m² apart in the same bunker can tell contrasting stories, with pH variations revealing multiple fermentation zones.
Even when dry matter is measured, water may still be present, increasing the risk of undesirable fermentation.
To reduce variability
✅ Fill and seal the bunker quickly to limit oxygen ingress
✅ Manage moisture to avoid water accumulation
✅ Sample multiple areas to get a reliable assessment
✅ Use a proven inoculant
At MAGNIVA Forage Inoculants, we work alongside farmers to help turn variability into consistent, high-quality silage.
