Located just outside Esher, in the village of Claygate, The Swan Inn has been home to countless memories, incredible food and a very special team. For the past 7 years, Matt has been a huge part of that story, bringing his passion, talent and dedication to our kitchen.
While we’re incredibly sad to see him go, we couldn’t be prouder to see him embark on a new adventure. Matt, you’ve been a huge part of our story, and we can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds for you.

A beautiful late October morning at Iris. And we have two very special Newlyweds with us! Congratulations José Pizarro and Dr Peter Meades 🥂
Some places need no introduction. José is one of them.
For 15 years, we’ve been serving good food, pouring drinks and making memories. But for some, José has been a little more than that; the place where a first date happened, a friendship began, or a story worth telling started.
And maybe that’s the best kind of introduction.
Last week, we sat down at The Swan for a special dinner with our friends from , celebrating one of Spain’s most iconic products: Jamón Ibérico.
This is why we’re proud to serve Cinco Jotas Jamón Ibérico across all our restaurants, bringing the very best of Spain to the UK. As proud ambassadors of Spanish food and culture, it’s about sharing the products, traditions and stories that make Spain so special; one plate at a time.

Tarifa, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and Europe almost touches Africa. A windswept town of whitewashed streets, endless beaches, wild light, and a distinctly bohemian spirit. The kind of place that makes you slow down, look out to sea, and stay a little longer than planned. Watching the wind surfers is like gazing into an open fireplace - mesmerising!

‘The Whispering Rock’ in Zahara, a name .notes gave her.
Stand in front here and you can hear the sea echoing back, clear and strangely intimate, like the whispering gallery at St Paul’s Cathedral.
To me this formation looks like an enormous ear pressed against the Atlantic, shaped over many centuries to catch sound waves and return them to the world. Nature discovering acoustics long before we did.
There’s something ancient and almost sacred about it. As though Gaia herself is listening from the shoreline. 🤍
