I love to sew pretty items for children and the home, largely inspired by my own children.

After years of creating at Corner Lane Designs, I’m now opening the door to my other passion of sourcing repairing and giving new life to items.Join me at Corner Lane Curiosities as I share a curated collection of antiques, vintage gems and collectables. I am a work from home mum and the majority of my work is sold on-line but I also make a lot of customised orders for people so please contact me if you are looking for something special - I may be able to help!

On Sunday I managed to make it to a car boot sale. First one since early September when I was up in Scotland. My life means I am normally in some sailing club or another at the weekends!

It was quiet, but I found a few little bits and pieces of treasure. That gorgeous handmade magnolia cushion has already gone, I've cleaned and wax polished the wood on the peg rack and think that may be staying with me! The rest I have washed, cleaned and they are now listed for sale. I hope I have picked some pieces that someone out there will truly love to give a new home to ❤️

What's selling now the season is changing....
Looking at these sales, people are looking for warm and cosy homewares; warm wooden tones, big casserole pots, book ends and of course planning ahead for Christmas - I advertised that tablecloth as being great over the top of a plain red one for a christmassy dinner table 😁.

What's selling for you right now?

A few of my Vinted "Solds" since the last post. A few of these came from that large FB marketplace bundle I mentioned before and have been a real joy to clean and photograph. Will do another post soon with some more.

September ended with these sales. I was so tempted to keep the swallows, they looked fab on my navy wall.
The 2 wall plaques were from a huge bundle off FB Marketplace. I mean my car boot and back seat were full. All sorts of vintage bits and pieces and such a lovely lady selling them. We had a good chat about reselling.
The tealight castle/fantasy studio pottery piece was another item from the box I bought from Auction last week (the one where the man told me I must be blind....). So far that £2 box has made me £30 in sales.
Finally the 70s ugly mug. I've had this a while so won't be buying it again if I ever see it.

Some of the weekend's sales. A complete mix of items! At last Thursday's local auction, one of the bids I won was a £2 box of random bits. A man quite rudely asked me if I was blind!! I didn't respond but I had spotted that telephone in the box. It just needed a wipe down, plugged it in to check it works (it does) and it sold overnight for £20 - chuffed with that 😀

The oak CD racks I picked up on FB marketplace to flip. They sold in under a week with a great profit.

I loved the Rennie Mackintosh magnifying glass, again bought at last week's auction, but I'm trying not to hold onto everything I love. It was a fast seller too. This week I have lots of bits to clean and restore ready for listing 🧽

Last weekend's Vinted sales. Some of these have turned around pretty quickly, others I e had for months. Mele Jewellery Box - Took longer to sell than I would have liked. I could have sold it many times as I had some really low offers but I eventually accepted an offer of £20. The plaster of Paris cherub I would not buy again. I just don't like it. Gutted the wooden stand sold as it was a great photo prop!! It went for full asking price. The seasalt bag also went for full asking price within 24 hours of listing. Love that chess board and would definitely buy again if I saw one. The cook book stand was very popular too so I would buy that again too.

I've really not been around much over the past couple of months with the boy's sailing activities so things have been a bit slower over the summer. However, eBay has really picked up and you can tell we are coming into Autumn/Winter as 2 vintage quilts have sold. I absolutely loved that floral Sanderson quilt but it was absolutely huge and sadly I don't have a bed big enough so it had to go!
My husband thought I'd gone mad when I brought home the lone Staffordshire dog last week, but I knew it was special. It was genuinely old Victorian 1880s approx. It sold within 3-4 days and is currently en-route to Texas!!

I picked up these 5 items yesterday. 3 of them sold straight away. Can you guess which 3 items they were??

🤔🤔

Well it was not a great car boot this morning. Loads of sellers there, just nothing that I would go for. So here is what I got. Love the little owls, just need to figure out what they are carved from...they are cold like stone, sounds like glass when bumped together....any ideas??

Last photo shows the one item I think will sell quickly!! A vintage elf - 1950s-60s.
