For students, the end of Year 9 marks the beginning of some important decisions, including choosing subjects for the next two years. As they move into Year 10, they also begin preparing for their first GCSE mock exams and developing the study and revision habits that will support them throughout KS4.

Our KS4 Parent Coffee Morning, led by Mr Wolff, our new Head of Year 10 and Year 11 (KS4), was a great opportunity to go through the key information and look ahead.

We covered compulsory and optional subjects, key deadlines, mock exams, resits and final examinations, bayond the classrooms programmes and options, as well as the importance of planning ahead to support informed choices, effective preparation and student progress.

Thank you to Mr Wolff for leading the session, and to all the parents who joined us. The information shared will also be sent by email, with further details about this important stage available on the corresponding KS4 microsite.

Mr Duncker Brown took his Year 9 students outdoors during their Biology class last week to put their learning into practice while exploring using quadrats and random sampling! This was to gain an estimate of population size of a model population. Students gathered measurements, collected data and worked together on tasks that they would later use to complete their learning back in class. This helps to make this key practical experience memorable for when they have to make use of this knowledge.

Learning happens when students are doing, questioning, collaborating and sometimes stepping outside their comfort zones, and even outside the classroom.

Just another example of the amazing learning happening at our school every day.

Come and see our world. 🌍

Choosing a school is about so much more than classrooms and curriculums. It’s about finding a place where your child feels happy, supported and inspired to discover who they are and what they can become.

A place where learning is exciting.
Where teachers care and nurture.
Where individual skills and talents are recognised.
Where friendships span the world.
And where there’s space to simply be you.

Our Open Day is your opportunity to step inside Lady Elizabeth School, meet our students and teachers, explore our Benitachell campus and experience what makes our community so special.

📅 Thursday, 22nd October at 10am
📍 Benitachell Campus

Come and see our world for yourself and be part of our special community.

Celebrating our Cambridge Certificate students!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of celebrating our incredible students from Year 7 to Year 13 as they received their Cambridge certificates!

From A2 to C2, congratulations to every single one of you. Your achievements are a reflection of your hard work, dedication, curiosity, and passion for learning, and of your willingness to go beyond the strictly curricular.

We are especially proud to celebrate your outstanding knowledge and confidence in the English language. Our students have demonstrated impressive proficiency across their exams, with examiners particularly highlighting their strong speaking skills and excellent command of the language.

And a very special congratulations to the many students who have achieved the C2 level: an exceptional accomplishment!

A huge thank you to Ms Cotterill and Mrs Moody for encouraging, challenging and guiding our students throughout their journey. And thank you to the Cambridge team for joining us today and personally presenting the certificates and diplomas to our students.

We are incredibly proud of every one of you. Keep learning, keep challenging yourselves, and keep going beyond expectations!

♟️ Chess, community and a little friendly competition!

Albert, LES student, is a big fan of chess and loves nothing more than sitting down for a game with all sorts of opponents. Today, it was Mr Berry. Not their first game together, and definitely not their last!

It’s lovely to see our school community connecting over shared passions and enjoying those informal moments together. Chess is a popular part of school life, from our Chess Club to those spontaneous games that happen along the way.

And it’s about so much more than moving pieces around a board. Chess is a great way to have fun while developing strategic thinking, problem-solving, concentration, patience and the ability to think a few steps ahead. All while learning how to win graciously, lose gracefully and enjoy the game along the way.

A good game of chess, a good opponent and a bit of friendly rivalry ♟️😊
