When I first started Bee Wise, the biggest challenge wasn’t the cleaning or property care itself. My first clients came through my time working in real estate, so I already knew people who owned properties here in Spain and would help them whenever they needed me. The difficult part was turning those few jobs into a proper business and, more importantly, getting people to know I was there.

I knew the property-care market was already busy and I didn’t want to simply become another company offering cleaning and keyholding. I knew I had something different to offer, but I wasn’t sure how to show people that. After doing a lot of research, I decided to use social media and especially cleaning before-and-after videos to let people see what I actually do.

I have to admit, making those first videos was nerve-wracking. I felt silly speaking over them and often wondered whether anyone would even be interested. Looking back now, I can see how much I’ve grown and how much more comfortable I am putting myself and Bee Wise out there.

What surprised me most was how many people actually enjoyed the videos. Clients started commenting, neighbours would mention them when I was out walking the dog, and little by little I realised that people were getting to know the person behind the business.

The real turning point was when people started contacting me having never met me. They had seen my videos, read my reviews and followed what I was doing, so they already felt they could trust me with their property. That showed me I didn’t need to try to be something I wasn’t. I just needed to be myself and let people see how I work.

I think that’s probably what makes Bee Wise different. I’m quite down to earth, I genuinely enjoy talking to people and I like getting to know my clients rather than simply seeing them as customers. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses Bee Wise, recommends me or shares my name with someone who needs help.

What a month it’s been! Over 50 appointments completed, new clients met, Keyholding visits carried out and lots of homes looked after along the way.

I also managed to squeeze in a few days back in England, started reading again, celebrated a birthday (or two!) and spent some much-needed time with family. ✈️📚🎂

It’s been one of those months where I’ve looked back and thought, wow, we actually got a lot done.

Bee Wise is continuing to grow, and I’m so grateful for every client who trusts me with their home when they’re not here. 🐝🏡

Now onto October… new month, new goals and plenty more to come. 🤎

When I’ve needed someone to look after my own home, I’ve always wanted the same things.

Someone honest. Someone trustworthy. Someone I feel comfortable with.

Someone I can relate to and, most importantly, someone I know I can rely on.

I’d want them to tell me if something had changed at my property.

If something was broken, I’d want to know about it — not find out weeks or months later when the problem had become bigger.

And if something did need repairing, I’d want someone who could help me find the right person to fix it.

For me, that’s where the idea behind Bee Wise really comes from.

I wanted to create the kind of property-care service that I would want to use myself.

But there’s another part of it that’s just as important to me.

I want my clients to know me.

I want them to know my story, understand who they are dealing with and feel that there is a real person behind the business.

Bee Wise might be growing, but I never want it to feel like you’re just another name or number on a list.

I want my clients to feel comfortable contacting me, knowing that their needs matter and that I take them seriously.

Because when you own a home abroad, especially when you’re not here all the time, trust matters.

And for me, that’s the difference I wanted Bee Wise to make. 🐝
