It's "Bwat" - black and white appreciation Thursday.

A new day. Still mad about the thing with the image theft. But I met this cute guy in my studio yesterday. And I am on my way to a photography fair where I spend two days talking about dogs and photography. Life is good.

16 and a half.

There are days when simply everything goes wrong.
Today I found out that a major company is using one of my images, and I have absolutely nothing on file that indicates that they bought the rights. It could be good news (I can charge them extra), or it could be bad news (somebody stole my image and sold it to them). In any case, it is super annoying and stressful.
I also received a rejection for one of my dream projects. It looked so promising.
During a session with the cutest 16 year old good boy my strobes didn't work properly and I can't figure out what's wrong. It's ok, I've got lots of pictures, but it makes my blood pressure go up as well.
Now I have sent an email to the wrong person.

I'll call it a day. See you tomorrow.

Mutts are awesome. This is Schoko, one of the most unique and cute faces to ever grace my studio.

Shake paws with this beauty. Yes, I take images of cats, too. Lots actually. And it is as much fun as meeting dogs. Sorry, not sorry. I love cats, too.

If I had told my younger self that one day there would be a chapter about my photos in a book called New Photography of the Dog, I probably wouldn't have believed it. To anyone out there struggling to find the right audience: keep showing up.

For me, nothing happened overnight. I just kept taking pictures, posted them online, and put myself out there in real life, too. It took me seven years to finally be able to say that I make a living from this. Even now, I still enjoy photography as a hobby, not just as a job.

What I’ve learned throughout this journey is that talent is massively overrated, it’s all about consistency, adapting to new realities but never giving up. Well, and better keep your day job as long as necessary. That's how it worked for me. 😉

And now, it's time to put together an entire book. Fingers crossed!

Have a great Sunday, everybody!

I AM HAAAANGRY!!!

(Yes, I always make sure, they look their best.)

Here's the happiest of all happy Aussies for you. Humboldt is his name. Humboldt doesn’t care about how much money is in your bank account, or whether you made a mistake at work today. He doesn't notice if you're awkward, anxious, or wearing your hair in a messy tangle. When you walk through the door, he doesn't look at your past or judge your flaws. Humboldt simply sees exciting people.
