In Löberitz, an existing wind site is being developed into a hybrid park. Five older wind turbines are being replaced by three modern turbines, with significantly higher output and around ten times the expected annual energy yield.
Project at a glance:
🌬️ Wind: 21.6 MW
☀️ PV: 19.99 MWp
🔋 Battery storage: part of the hybrid concept
🔌 Grid connection: shared grid connection point
Work is progressing on site. The concrete towers are in place, and main components such as steel tower sections, nacelles and rotor blades are being installed. PV construction is also starting. Implementation on the site begins this October.
Löberitz shows how repowering and hybridisation can be combined: fewer turbines, more generation and continued use of existing infrastructure.
More details on construction progress are available in the construction diary on the project website. Link in the comments.

Construction has started on our first wind energy project in Lower Saxony: work is now under way on our Liethe-Lehmden repowering wind farm in the municipality of Rastede. 🏗️
Four existing wind turbines will be replaced by three modern turbines. This will increase the installed capacity from 3.6 MW to 18 MW – while annual electricity generation will increase more than tenfold.
The wind farm at a glance:
🌬️ 3 new Vestas V150 turbines
⚡ 18 MW total installed capacity

🏆 Racibórz Wind Farm wins the Construction of the Year 2025 Award
Congratulations to our VSB Poland team which has been awarded 1st place in the Energy Facilities category in Poland’s Construction of the Year 2025 competition with the wind farm “Racibórz”.
The jury recognised several aspects of the project, including a technical solution developed by VSB: the 7-metre-high elevated concrete foundations for the wind turbines.
The elevated foundation allows the use of modern turbines while meeting the requirements of the local spatial development plan, environmental report and building permit, without requiring customised steel towers.
A great result for everyone involved — from the teams on site to colleagues across VSB who contributed to the project along the way.👏
It is a great recognition of our shared commitment to safety, innovation, collaboration and the energy transition.

Hamburg, you delivered! ⚡🌬️ Four intense days at WindEnergy Hamburg are coming to an end, full of inspiring conversations, valuable discussions and great encounters at our joint stand with TotalEnergies.
One message came through loud and clear: the energy system is becoming more integrated. Generation, storage, grids, markets and customers need to work together, with flexibility becoming increasingly important.
For VSB, Integrated Power Germany is the next step: combining more than 30 years of project experience with the strengths of Kyon Energy, QUADRA energy Sales & Origination and TotalEnergies Offshore Wind Germany, from generation and storage to energy marketing and customer solutions. ⚡
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared ideas and made these four days so valuable, and especially to Olivier Jouny for joining us in Hamburg and connecting with our teams and partners. Great to have you with us!
And of course, there was time to celebrate 30 years of VSB. 🎉💙
After four days, countless conversations and plenty of impressions, WATThilda is taking one last look at Hamburg before heading back home to Dresden. 🦆⚓
See you next time! 👋

Thirty years of VSB. One very special night in Hamburg. 💙 At WindEnergy Hamburg, we’re talking about projects, technologies, new ideas and the future of our energy system.
Last night, though, was about the people behind the journey. Together with colleagues, customers, partners and long-standing companions, we raised a glass to 30 years of VSB – accompanied by a great DJ set and plenty of good vibes. 🎧✨ And of course, WATThilda was right in the middle of it all. 🦆
Thank you to everyone who has supported, shaped and moved VSB forward over the past three decades.
Since 2025, we have been part of TotalEnergies. Through Integrated Power, new connections and opportunities are emerging.
Celebrating 30 years. New chapters ahead.

From strong capabilities to integrated power solutions.
With Integrated Power Germany, as part of TotalEnergies, we are opening a new chapter in the history of the VSB Group. And what better place than WindEnergy Hamburg to talk about this next step with you – our customers, partners and media representatives.
In collaboration with QUADRA energy and Kyon Energy, TotalEnergies is bringing together project development, renewable power generation onshore and offshore, battery storage and market expertise across Germany.
Together, we can consider generation, storage and route-to-market solutions at an earlier stage of project development – combining complementary capabilities across the value chain to deliver profitable hybrid projects and reliable low-carbon power solutions.
As Managing Director of TotalEnergies Integrated Power Germany, Alexandre Duret-Proux will connect the complementary strengths of VSB, Kyon Energy, QUADRA energy Sales & Origination and TotalEnergies’ Offshore Wind business in Germany.
Want to talk to us about it? Come and meet us at Hamburg:

Just a few days to go until WindEnergy Hamburg 2026 – and WATThilda’s next stop gives a glimpse of where the energy system is heading.
At Hybrid Park Löberitz, VSB is developing its first hybrid project in Germany. Five older wind turbines are being replaced by three modern Vestas V172 turbines, while a solar park of almost 20 MWp is being built alongside them. Wind and solar PV will use a shared grid connection – making better use of existing infrastructure and bringing different generation profiles together.
And we are already thinking one step further: a battery energy storage system is planned as a future addition. That combination of generation and flexibility is also part of the broader idea behind Integrated Power Germany: connecting VSB’s project expertise more closely with complementary capabilities within TotalEnergies.
And that’s exactly the topic we’ll be discussing in Hamburg:

Next stop: Hamburg. 🦆⚓
17/09/2026
First stop: Repowering Wind Farm Elster. 🦆🌬️ WATThilda is making her way north towards WindEnergy Hamburg 2026 – but before heading on to Hamburg, there’s a project worth stopping for.
At Wind Farm Elster in Saxony-Anhalt, VSB is replacing 50 older wind turbines with 18 modern ones. Sixteen are already in operation. Two more are now being added:
🔹 the concrete tower for one turbine is complete
🔹 the foundation for the second has been completed
🔹 cable installation is complete
Once all 18 turbines are in place, Elster will reach 118.8 MW and is expected to generate around 267 GWh per year – more energy from significantly fewer turbines. For VSB, Elster is a good example of what 30 years of project experience can achieve: developing existing sites further rather than simply starting again from scratch.
Today, we bring that experience to TotalEnergies and into a more integrated energy system.
WATThilda is moving on. Next stop: our Hybrid Park Löberitz. 🦆
