The hardest fraud to catch is the kind committed through a legitimate account.

Everything checks out. The account is fully verified, a long-standing history, the deposit patterns are consistent. What changed is who is sitting behind it, a new device, a different country, a payment method added an hour ago.

Most fraud rules are built to spot a bad account. Account takeover is a good account behaving out of character, and the player it belongs to is a victim rather than a suspect.

KYZEN watches for the change in behaviour, not just the profile, and treats the account holder as someone to protect.

A complaint that doesn't get a real answer doesn't always go away. It moves up.

In a licensed market, the player's next step is usually an independent dispute body (an ADR) or the regulator directly.

Once it gets there, the operator isn't just replying to a player any more. It has to prove the call it made was right. The declined withdrawal. The voided bonus. The locked account. Whatever the complaint was about.

That means producing the record. Timestamps. Chat transcripts. The decision and who made it. Proof the terms were actually communicated to the player.

Whatever the agent wrote at the time is what the case now rests on.
So a complaint response isn't only a service task. It's a compliance one.
A quick reply might resolve the complaint. It might not.

The ones it doesn't resolve don't just go away. They come back somewhere slower and more formal, with deadlines you don't control, where saying no isn't enough. You have to prove it.

At KYZEN, we run each client's complaint process the way they've defined it, and we document every step. The answer the player gets and the record a regulator would see line up, because they come from the same process.

Handle the complaint properly the first time, or defend it later on someone else's terms.

Marketing plans the campaign. Support absorbs it.

A bonus campaign tends to inadvertently bring about deposit questions, enquiries about bonus-eligibility, wagering requirements, and a wave of players availing themselves of the offer and requiring assistance with anything in between.

Not to mention instances where a campaign does not exactly go according to plan. We have all been there 😊

Support should not find out about promotions when tickets start flowing in.

A promotional calendar shared in advance is always optimal, because staffing is built around it, rather than based on averages from prior months.

Such approach sets the distinction between a promotion that converts to its maximum potential and one that generates a queue and catches agents by surprise.

Acquisition and reactivation go hand in hand with support

That’s a wrap on Day 1 at SBC Summit Lisbon✨

It’s been a great first day for KYZEN, filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas with people from across the iGaming industry.

Our Head of Customer Support Ståle Moe was there representing KYZEN, sharing more about how we support operators across different areas of their day-to-day operations, while also hearing about the challenges, opportunities, and priorities shaping the industry right now.

Events like SBC are always a great reminder of how valuable face-to-face conversations can be, meeting new people, reconnecting with familiar faces, and learning from others working in the same space.

A strong first day, and we’re looking forward to even more conversations tomorrow.

If you’re attending SBC Lisbon and haven’t met us yet, come say hello👋

Next week, KYZEN is heading to Lisbon for SBC Summit.

The strongest conversations in iGaming are rarely about one challenge in isolation. They are about what happens between them: players who need answers, payment journeys that need to work, risk controls that have to hold, and operations that cannot pause when volumes rise.

That is what KYZEN runs every day.

If you’re attending SBC and want to talk about 24/7 customer support, risk, payments, fraud, compliance, or simply what it takes to scale operations without losing control, we would love to meet.

We’ll be in Lisbon from Monday, ahead of SBC Summit taking place 29 September–1 October.

Send us a message or comment below to arrange a meeting.

See you in Lisbon.

KYC Verification teams used to focus on determining if documents were clearly fraudulent or that display inconsistencies. The challenge today is that documents look completely legitimate.

AI generated and manipulated Identity documents clearly display the correct fonts, valid check digits, realistic wear and tear, and even photographs that match the applicant. Relying only on visual document reviews is therefore no longer an effective measure. A team can appear highly efficient by approving documents quickly, only for the real cost to emerge later through chargebacks, fraud and account abuse.

The stronger approach is to look beyond the document itself. Device history, file metadata and creation patterns, reused information, linked accounts, behavioural signals and post-approval activity can all provide important context when determining whether an applicant is genuinely who they claim to be.

At KYZEN, we treat the document as one data point within a wider verification and risk assessment process, not as the decision itself.

Support metrics only measure the players who bothered to speak.

The ones who wait forty minutes for a live chat response, get an answer that half-solves it, and quietly stop depositing never appear in a CSAT score. They didn't rate the interaction. They didn't escalate. They left, and the support dashboard stayed green.

Complaint volume is not a measure of satisfaction, it's a measure of how much effort a player is willing to spend on you. Falling contact rates can mean the experience improved. They can also mean the players who cared have already gone.

KYZEN reads support data against deposit and session behaviour, because a ticket that was never opened is still information.

The dangerous feedback is the kind you never receive.

When AML thresholds or KYC requirements change, fraud and risk teams are usually the first ones who have to operationalize it : updated triggers, new documentation checks, retrained reviewers , often before policy documents are even finalized.

Readiness here means the team can move before the deadline, not scramble at it.

Chasing individual suspicious accounts misses the bigger picture. The signal that matters is the device, the browser fingerprint, the payment method reused across accounts that look unrelated on the surface.

We build detection around the pattern, not the profile, because the profile is exactly what's built to look clean.

Standard fraud rules are built around volume patterns from average accounts.

Apply them unchanged to a high-value player and you'll either miss real risk hiding behind large legitimate transactions, or trigger friction that insults your best customer.

VIP risk review isn't "the same rules, more carefully." It's a different model entirely.
