ABOUT a universal language

This beautiful building is located in the heart of the small city of Sal Rei, among its typical houses. unusual in its structure, the museum is totally built in white calcareous stone and volcanic rock.
Inside, large mosaics, stained glass windows, paintings and sculpture narrate the wonderful story of the Cape Verd islands. The history is analyzed through a vast exhibit of works displayed on four levels, as in upward path.

The adventure begins at the bottom of the ocean where we cross the ruins of a shipwreck, here we are exposed to themes which lie within the depth of history and of the human soul.

A set of stairs will lead us to the surface, where we will learn about the history of Cape Verde and its culture, grown strong and powerful against the beating waves and the strong blowing winds, with its colours and musics, crossed in time by wealth and famine.
