Sand from the Sahara blows in all over Cape Verde.
Misty, dusty and everything settles everywhere.
Hopefully it settles down before Christmas. The trade winds normally run along the west coast of Africa and turns west around Cape Verde. Now the wind comes from far inside the African continent and brings sand from the Sahara.
Dry mouth and cough worse than usual even though I don't smoke anymore.

Life is changing.
Tomorrow its actually my birthday so Carina, is making magic in the kitchen. A surprise she says. Well, I've got the photos so it's not a surprise. But she also says she's gonna make a cake with g***a. 😁
I really start to like this life
Tuesday we are leaving Sao Vicente and going to Brava. About 20-25 hours away. I have problems with the engine of my dinghy so right now we're staying in the marina. Easy to walk on and off but expensive. I hope to get the engine fixed soon so we can sail away. I don't like to sail away without an engine for the dinghy, its a little like a car. Panacea is my house but Remedy, the dinghy, is my car.

A 9 hour, 50 miles motorsail to Sao Nicholau. No wind but nice weather. Right now I am at anchor outside Terrafall and gonna go to land for check in.

While waiting to go sailing, maybe in two weeks, I got an invitation for a day in an abandoned not finnished hotel complex that the locals call Favela.
Great place and a great experience. We cooked a really good katchupa, some guys hooked a lot of small octopuses that we cooked as a starter.
I also was offered a sea urchin which I never had before. Just pick it from the sea, open it and eat it. Delicious!

After 10 months of not sailing. I made a test sail to Palmeira, Sal. A 125 mile journey from Mindelo. Nice to try the boat and my sea legs. Also nice to se another island.
