🌍 GLOBAL SAT | 🇪🇷 ’s Foreign Minister Accuses Ethiopia of Threatening Regional Stability
Asmara, 15 October 2026 — Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh briefed members of the diplomatic community in Asmara on what he described as Ethiopia’s ongoing violations of Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, warning of serious implications for peace and security in the Horn of Africa.
Minister Osman accused Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party of pursuing “sovereign access to the Red Sea” through threats of force, including statements concerning Eritrea’s sovereignty and the strategic port of Assab. He argued that such rhetoric violates the UN Charter and the 2018 Eritrea–Ethiopia Agreement on Peace and Friendship.
The minister also alleged that Ethiopia was providing military and logistical support to armed groups operating against Eritrea, while contributing to growing regional instability. He stressed that Eritrea was not a party to the November 2022 Pretoria Agreement between the Ethiopian federal government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF).
Addressing deteriorating diplomatic relations, Osman stated that Ethiopia’s embassy in Asmara stopped communicating with Eritrea’s Foreign Ministry before closing on 8 August 2026. He also condemned Ethiopia’s expulsion of ten Eritrean diplomats on 1 October, including officials assigned to the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa.
In conclusion, Osman called on the UN Security Council to consider Eritrea’s 9 October statement, condemn what Asmara characterizes as Ethiopia’s hostile policy, and adopt appropriate measures under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
🇪🇷🇪🇹 Fabricated Locations & Broken Digital Trails in Eritrea-Ethiopia Tension,
The BBC's Claim: Major outlets published unverified troop movements as concrete facts, even though the BBC's own reporting explicitly admitted it could not independently verify the claims.
The Guardian's Drone Story: The Guardian reported an Ethiopian drone attack against Eritrean troops based on an unverified witness, a militia commander, and an uncooperative monitor—while Ethiopia itself had not even claimed a strike.
Broken Links: Channel 4 News posted headlines assuming an invasion took place, but the included link directed users to a page that didn't exist.
Ghost Locations: An X (formerly Twitter) account under "Conflict Zone" alleged Eritrean forces entered Tigray through eight specific places, yet zero of those locations appeared in any news agency, monitor, or government report, citing no sources at all.
A dramatic headline isn't proof, and a blue checkmark isn't confirmation. Always check who actually verified the source before sharing breaking news!

Reports attributed to the Tigray Communication Affairs Bureau claim that the TPLF/TDF has reorganized its forces and is preparing for a possible counteroffensive on multiple fronts in Tigray in the coming days.
The statement also alleges looting, destruction, and abuses by Ethiopian federal forces and allied groups. These allegations have not been independently verified.
⚠️ The situation remains sensitive. Further confirmation from reliable, independent sources is needed.
