Leiyah is absolutely one of those dogs. Every time I see her, she is SO happy to see me, and I can’t help but leave with a smile.

A little personal note from me. 💜

I’m taking a few days away from Head To Pawsitive this week. Things are particularly heavy at home right now, and my heart needs to be with my dogs (my family).

Some moments simply matter more than work. Right now, I’m choosing the extra cuddles, the quiet moments, and being present for the ones I love. ❤️

For my clients: If you have an appointment already booked this week, it is still happening as scheduled. If you’ve reached out about booking or have a question, I may be slower to respond, but I will get back to you as soon as I’m able.

Not every moment needs to be training. Sometimes they just need space to be curious, observe, and enjoy being a dog. ❤️

Big day for Leckerli! 🐾💛

Leckerli clocked in for her very important job as a Trainer’s Assistant Dog! (By the way, she is KPA certified too!)🎓

Her assignment? Helping reactive dogs learn that “OMG, THERE’S A DOG!” doesn’t necessarily mean “WE MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!” 😂

We started with lots of distance and a carefully controlled setup, giving the dogs the space they needed to stay under threshold, observe Leckerli, and practice regulating their emotions in the presence of another dog.

And Leckerli? She was the picture of professionalism. 😌
Calm. Neutral. Unbothered. Basically the coworker who actually knows what they’re doing.

Working with a neutral, steady dog can be incredibly valuable for behavior modification, but the goal isn’t simply to get dogs closer together. It’s to help them feel safe, stay regulated, and build successful experiences at a distance they can handle.

Leckerli may have gone home thinking she deserves a raise. 😂

10/10 assistant. Would hire again. 🐕‍🦺✨

🐾 Puppyhood, just like teenagehood, can be challenging to navigate!

Even when you’ve done your research and thoughtfully prepared for a puppy, sometimes the reality of living with an individual dog can be very different from what you expected. Every puppy brings their own personality, needs, and challenges, and sometimes you need to adjust your expectations and approach along the way. 😅

With dedication, patience, and resilience, Lucy’s owner is turning this little tornado into a much more balanced and well-adjusted puppy. ❤️

Sometimes, the key to changing behavior isn’t simply training harder, it’s understanding why the behavior is happening in the first place.

Often, we need to adjust the environment and meet the dog’s individual needs before learning can even happen.

In Lucy’s case, this busy little puppy found that her long-leash walks were far more fulfilling than almost any other form of exercise. 🌿🐕

Sniffing. Exploring. Taking in the environment. Processing the world around her.

These walks gave Lucy the opportunity to slow down, regulate, and get her brain into a state where she could actually connect, think, and learn.

Sometimes the biggest breakthrough isn’t teaching the dog something new, it’s figuring out what they need so they’re ready to learn. 🧠🐾

And Lucy? She’s proving just how much can change with the right support, patience, and understanding. 💛

After dedicating countless hours to continuing my education and gaining hands-on experience, I'm now offering Mid-Day Potty & Training Breaks.

Working long hours and worried your dog is spending the day bored or under-stimulated? I can come directly to your home and provide your dog with a fun, positive training session tailored to their needs. Each visit includes a potty break, movement, mental enrichment, and reward-based training to keep both their mind and body engaged.

Have a specific behavior you'd like your dog to learn or improve? I can work on those skills during our visits and later transfer the training to you, making it easier to maintain at home.
