The TBS Rhinowear Bucket for the Epiroc ST18 Scooptram

We have a customer that ordered 5 new scooptrams. The flattering part is that they ordered the new buckets from us!
Since 1991, we have been building ruggedized underground buckets for hard rock mining. They are designed, tested, and fabricated IN northern Ontario, FOR northern Ontario.
Every aspect of the design builds upon the OEM specification, increases capability, and extends lifecycle.

Our latest production run includes 5 new severe duty TBS Rhinowear buckets for the Epiroc ST18 scooptram. They come with a payload of 18 metric tonnes, and capacity of up to 9.7 cubic meters. We are proud to support the incredible mining sector of Ontario, making better products that help their operations thrive.

TBS Tech Series: The “Rammer Jammer”

In some mines, "rammer jammer" may be used loosely to refer to a rock-breaking attachment or a machine used for secondary breaking of oversized rock, but the most common underground mining usage is the loader-mounted push/jamming attachment used to clear blockages. Our customers can mount it onto the bucket of their scoop tram and use the rammer jammer for a variety of projects.

We were asked to look at a customer’s existing unit and were commissioned to design and build a heavy-duty version. After 4 revisions, we finalized the design and fabricated a Rhinowear-worthy edition of a TBS Rammer Jammer! The customer put it to work and the results were outstanding! Our version has worked more then double the hours of previous versions before needing any repair work.

This is a great example of creativity to solve a customer challenge – it demonstrates that we can design and build unique components that benefit mining production.

Surface Preparation

Two words, many hours, and tremendous results!
We have a modern 10,000 square foot surface preparation building. It houses 1 booth for abrasive blasting, and 2 booths for painting. The building has several overhead doors for easy access, an overhead crane to assist with moving components, and floor space to allow for multiple projects.

Thanks to the tremendously skilled employees, we bring components back to showroom condition.

TBS Inventory Services

A huge benefit that we provide for customers, is the provision of spare inventory for commonly consumed components.

We help customer audit their fleet and understand the maintenance cycle for repair, overhaul, or replacement. Then we work with them to calculate an appropriate amount of spare inventory for their mobile fleet. While many customers keep their own inventory, we also build some in advance and keep them available for immediately delivery as required.

It’s part of our mandate to create a mutual exchange of value with customers.
