Yesterday was Class one of our first fall Baby and Me music! Starring my sidekick!
We have 7 kiddos enrolled (just not all could make it the first day!)
It was a blast!
We always starting with our welcome song that includes action and allows babies to warm up to the music environment and have consistency each class!

Some of our songs but not all, included changing the tempo (speed) and tone of our voices to enrich cognitive development and allow the children to notice differences in a song and inspire the inquisition about why the words are the same but it sounds different!
These are such an easy thing to do in your child’s life that makes way more of a difference than we realize! Can’t wait for the next two weeks!

October I’ll be offering another baby class session for Halloween (yay!)

Starting September 19th-October 3rd!
This class is perfect for caregivers to get out and meet others, connect with their child in a judgement free zone, introduce their child as year as infancy to music and more!
The class is 65$ for the 3 week session as a September promo! It runs from 9-945 at Knox United Church. The last 15 minutes of the class is a snack/social and free instrument play for parents and children! Message me for more info!

🏡 MUSIC TIME AT HOME! 🏡🎶

This morning in our house, we had a little music time! 🥰 We grabbed our instruments and sang songs while exploring FAST, SLOW, LOUD & QUIET! 🥁🎵

You don’t need anything fancy to make music with your little one. A shaker, drum, wooden spoon, or even clapping your hands can become an instrument!

✨ Why is this so beneficial for babies and toddlers?

🎵 Fast & slow music helps little ones begin to understand rhythm, patterns, timing and listening skills.

🤫 Loud & quiet encourages babies to listen carefully, notice differences in sound and begin developing control over their own movements and voices.

🧠 Music stimulates the brain and supports early cognitive development, memory, attention and language skills.

👋 Moving, shaking and tapping along helps build fine and gross motor skills while giving little ones a fun way to explore cause and effect.

❤️ And perhaps most importantly, singing and playing together creates connection and bonding between you and your baby!

Want to add a little extra learning? Use what you already have at home! 📚🧸

When we sing about animals, we grab our stuffed animals. 🐻🐮🐶
When we sing a familiar nursery rhyme, we find a book that goes along with it. 📖
We point, name objects, make animal sounds, copy movements and let our little one participate however they can!

There are no expectations and no “perfect” way to do music at home. Just follow your little one’s lead, have fun and make memories together. 💕

Sometimes the simplest moments — a song, a shaker and a favourite stuffy — can become some of the BEST learning moments. 🎶🧸✨
