I had the pleasure of participating in this secret sock test knit back in the spring. These socks feature beautiful lace and cables, they're thoughtfully designed, a pleasure to knit, and so comfortable to wear. It's a tricky colour to photograph, there are such beautiful details that hide in my photos, but check out the designer's pattern page to see them in their full glory! This pattern can be found in Laine Publishing's 52 Weeks of One-Skein Knits book, preorders are now open.

I haven't been sharing as often lately, but I have been having fun offline, knitting, sewing, and enjoying all our sweet city has to offer.
1. I'm working up my first sample in Knit Picks Gloss Fi*****ng and Aloft
2. I've split for sleeves on my 4th
3. Corduroy bags take a little longer to sew, but I'm chugging along, and they're so cute!
4. My Christmas-loving daughter encouraged me to try my hand at sewing my first quilt (for her, of course 😉)
5. Hubby and I had such a fun date night seeing Dan Mangan play. If you ever get the chance to see him live, take it!
6. We enjoyed our first milk jam, and they may just be the best donuts I've ever had 🤤
7+8. The Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival and fireworks are always really fun 🎇
9. There is no shortage of beautiful oceanside and forest walks here ❤️

My Corduroy Collection is coming along nicely! These are the three colours I'll be offering. Which one is your favourite?

I don't have a release date yet, I'm taking my time with this one 🐌

A fuzzy charcoal sweater? Yes please! I was going to use this yarn to knit up another Ranunculus, but then I started second guessing it because I worried the texture would hide in the mohair fluff and the lace would just look like a bunch of holes in my black sweater (😅), so I'm knitting a tried-and-true Lento Sweater. This will be my 4th Lento, I find this pattern to be such a comfortable, well-fitting, easy basic raglan pullover, and that's exactly what I'm looking for right now!

I'm also a busy bee knitting up samples of a new hat design and sewing up courderoy project bags (finally!), so look forward to that!

A few years ago, I knit a different top with this yarn, and wasn't super pleased with the fit (or very impressed with the pattern, if I'm honest), and I never ever wore it. So I decided to unravel the whole thing to knit something else. I like this new top SO much more, it's was fun to knit, it's lightweight and easy to wear, and I'm super happy with the fit. Being able to unravel something and make something else is just one of MANY reasons why fiber crafts are so incredible 🙌

I did make a silly error with these stripes where I managed to knit 2 extra rows of the main colour in each section, but I rolled with it and I'm happy with how it came out. I also copied Jessamy | Maker by doing a less fitted sleeve (2 sizes larger), which I'm also really happy with. All my mods can be found in my Ravelry project page notes.

These were the most intricate colourwork socks I've ever knitted, what a fun challenge! They fit my daughter perfectly, she is sooo happy with them! Knitting for knit-worthy people is entirely worthwhile ❤️ It's also way more fun to photograph socks on someone else's feet. Who knew?

I like to knit the neck and sleeves of a sweater before finishing the body because A. The neck and sleeves can sometimes change the length of the body, B. If I'm running low on yarn I can just end the body early rather than risking running out partway through a sleeve, and C. When I finish the body, all that's left is to weave in the ends and block!

It's pattern release day!

The Early Bird Socks feature wriggly curvy lines down the front to resemble worms, with purl stitches in the negative space that look like scattered seeds, giving these socks really pretty textural interest. They are worked cuff-down with options for a Crew or Ankle Leg, your choice of an Eye of Partridge Flap & Gusset Heel or a Shadow Wrap Short Row Heel, and a Wedge Toe. The texture motif is worked on the front of the leg and down the top of the foot using increases, decreases, and purl stitches. The pattern includes sizes between 6-10"(15-25cm).

Happy knitting, early birds! 🧦🐦☀️
