A labyrinth is a walking tool of meditation. Leslie is an advanced Veriditas labyrinth facilitator. Labyrinths and mazes are often confused.

Labyrinths date back over 4,000 years and appear in many different cultures. A labyrinth has only one path and you follow the same path back out. It is a walking tool of meditation and a metaphor for life’s journey. Labyrinth Possibilities has three medieval ones that people are invited to walk. Two are canvas and one is in our backyard. They are based on the labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral that is over 800 years old. Contact Leslie to share with you the many ways to experience a labyrinth. Leslie is an advanced Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator. She is also a Veriditas Council and Board member. Her husband is also an advanced Veriditas labyrinth Facilitator.

This can be a difficult time of year. The days are short. And for many of us our to do lists are long. Recently I treated myself to some good quality bed sheets and a new salt lamp. I love the glow they provide. Almost like the sunshine. Be gentle with yourself and others. See you on the path.

One of the things I love about Ontario is the changing seasons. Believe it or not the first photo shows how the wind blows. The leaves weren’t raked. And do you notice that there is a pocket of clear space amongst the leaves. One of my favourite blessings is to wish someone pockets of ease. Life isn’t always easy (I am trying to get better at accepting that) but if we look for the pockets or glimmers it can soothe us. The next photo is of something I found beautiful.
Wishing you pockets of ease.

The first is a view from my window. The next is the inside of a marigold that someone used on a walk they did yesterday. They created their own ritual. The final is our labyrinth. I purposefully left some leaves on it. I love the sound and it helps me focus on the path.
I am grateful for this wonderful weather. Takeout food (thanksgiving dinner for 2 is challenging) my friends and family.
Wishing you and yours a happy Thanksgiving. For my USA friends why not use this as a reminder to pause and reflect on what you are grateful for.

I shared this on my personal page as well. If you look hard, you will see a Canadian connection. (A package I donated.) And I am already bidding on things. Shh, I am not telling you what. There are lots of wonderful items not just for facilitators but people who love beautiful and meaningful items. And bonus you get to support a worthwhile organization. Take a look, bet you can't just bid on one item.

My sound quality wasn’t the best but I wanted to share with you a video of my backyard.

Just a reminder that you are invited to walk our Stratford Ontario labyrinth on September 27 at 3 pm. When you arrive just come to our backyard. A brief introduction and a time of centering will be offered. There is no pressure to walk our labyrinth. You are welcome to come and learn and spend time in a meditative place. Whether you are here in person or in spirit Mark Nepo said: When we heal ourselves, we heal the world. Blessings.

It has been a busy few weeks. But John and I are planning on offering a walk on September 27th in honour of fall. I will post the details soon.
In the meantime, when I am not doing labyrinth work I occasionally do some photography. On Saturday the Stratford Rotary Club hosted a dragon boat festival. I took over 750 photos. Here are three that I think symbolize the day. The opening ceremonies honour survivors and loved ones of breast cancer patients.

Here is a photo of the process. If you want to see the cards I created, I will make sure I have them on the next labyrinth walk. Thanks again to Laura and Veriditas for offering these opportunities for self care and adding tools for our labyrinth facilitation.

The past week has been busy. Lots of theatre in Niagara-on-the-lake. And then on Saturday I logged into The Gifts for the Journey workshop led by Laura Esculcas. While away I found this top. It seemed appropriate to wear for workshop. It reminds me of the scallop shell that is one of the symbols of pilgrims. The day went quickly. There is talk that this workshop might be offered again this year. This one was sold out fairly quickly so watch your emails and the Veriditas website to enroll. Thanks to the staff - both present and behind the scenes. And to the participants. It was inspiring to hear your stories. See you on the path.
