Students in the Interactive Design and Technology (IDT) program recently visited the MacKenzie Art Gallery (MAG) as part of their Professional Practices 2 course for a hands-on client project.

Working directly with the gallery, students planned, presented their ideas to the client, filmed, and produced a series of Instagram videos to help promote the exhibition WAKE WINDOWS: CIRCLE TIME.

The project gave students the opportunity to take their skills beyond the classroom, working in a professional environment, creating content for a real client, and gaining experience in video production, visual storytelling, social media, and client collaboration.

A great example of work-integrated learning connecting IDT students with Regina’s creative community!

Learning through real-world experience!

Interactive Design and Technology students recently met with Work-Integrated Learning partner Nicole Nugent from the MacKenzie Art Gallery to learn more about an upcoming exhibition video project.

During the meeting, students gathered information about the exhibition, discussed the client’s goals and expectations, and began planning how they will approach the video production process.

This project gives students the opportunity to apply their video production, design, communication, and project management skills while working directly with a real client and creating work for a professional environment.

A great start to an exciting client project!
