Apex Fireplace

🍂 Long Weekend Hours

Just a heads-up that we’ll be closed this Saturday and Monday for the long weekend. We’ll be back to our regular hours on Tuesday!

Enjoy the long weekend, everyone! 🇨🇦

This is what we mean when we talk about making the most of your outdoor space. 🔥

What started as an open patio is now a fully custom outdoor kitchen and entertaining area built to be enjoyed all summer long.

We brought everything together with beautiful stonework, granite countertops, a built-in grill, plenty of storage, dedicated firewood storage and a covered pergola to help make the space comfortable and functional.

We especially love how the stone ties into the existing landscaping and makes the new kitchen feel like it has always been part of the backyard.

From an empty corner of the patio to a place made for cooking, entertaining and spending more time outside - this one was a fun transformation.

A fireplace that fits this space perfectly. 🔥

The Urbana U44 Arched gas fireplace brings just the right mix of warmth, character and simplicity to this beautiful living room.

With its large viewing area, realistic log fire and classic arched design, the U44 creates an impressive focal point without taking away from the clean, open feel of the space. Framed by the built-in shelving on either side, everything feels balanced and intentional.

And beyond the looks, you get the convenience and comfort of a gas fireplace - a beautiful fire and plenty of warmth whenever you want it.

Clean, timeless and made to be enjoyed.

Sometimes changing the fireplace changes the whole way a room works. 🔥

The original peninsula fireplace took up a lot of valuable space and made it difficult to create a natural layout for the room. By removing it, we were able to completely rethink the area and create a feature that works much better for these homeowners.

We installed a Montigo DelRay 48 gas fireplace, finished it with large-format tile, added a custom mantel and created a dedicated space for the TV above. The wood slat detailing finishes it off and adds some great texture to the design.

The result? A cleaner, more open living space with a fireplace and entertainment area that actually works with the room instead of taking away from it.

Better use of the space, a fresh new look, and a fireplace they can enjoy every day. 🔥

It's a wood-burning kind of morning here at Apex. 🔥

Uptown 600 burning upfront, Stûv 30 Compact going in the background.

Honestly, not a bad way to start the day! 🪵☕️

Sometimes the best upgrade is simply making a space work better for the people who live there. 🔥

The wood stove had served its purpose, but this homeowner was ready for something they could enjoy a little more easily. So we gave the whole space a new look with a Napoleon Elevation EX36 gas fireplace, natural stone, a custom hearth and mantel, and shiplap that follows the height of the room.

Now there’s no hauling wood or getting a fire started. When they want a little warmth and a cozy fire, they grab the remote, click a button and enjoy.

And it looks pretty great too.

That’s what we love about these projects - finding the right mix of function and style for the people who actually use the space.

Now THAT is a fireplace transformation. 🔥

We completely reimagined this space, removing the existing freestanding wood stove and replacing it with a stunning Renaissance Rumford 1000 wood-burning fireplace.

The impressive firebox is framed with custom stonework and finished with a custom limestone lintel, surround and matching hearth. The natural stone and limestone work beautifully together, giving the fireplace a timeless look and making it the true focal point of the room.

A major upgrade while keeping everything we love about the warmth and atmosphere of a real wood-burning fire.

What a transformation. 🔥

Some fireplaces don’t just warm a room - they define it. 🔥

This Urbana U44G gas fireplace, surrounded by beautiful limestone veneer carried all the way to the ceiling, creates a striking focal point right in the heart of this space.

Framed perfectly between the large arched windows, the natural texture of the limestone and the warmth of the fire give the room a feature that draws your eye the moment you walk in.

A fireplace designed to be the centrepiece of the room.

What’s been keeping us busy this summer? ☀️🔥

Projects like this!

We’ve been spending plenty of time outdoors creating custom spaces that are made to be enjoyed. This one came together beautifully with an outdoor fireplace, custom stonework, built-in bar and plenty of space for entertaining.

There’s something pretty great about turning a backyard into a space where you can gather around the fire, watch the game, share a few drinks and enjoy those Alberta summer evenings.

We’re proud of how this one came together - and it’s just one of the projects that’s been keeping the Apex crew busy this summer!

Hard to believe this is the same wall. 🔥

What started as a completely blank space has been transformed into a feature that changes the entire feel of the room.

At the centre is a Napoleon Ascent Linear Premium BLX56 gas fireplace, finished with stone veneer, a custom mantel and floating accent shelves with integrated lighting. We also built in the perfect space for the TV to bring the whole design together.

The fireplace adds the warmth, the stone brings the character, and those illuminated shelves really make the finished space stand out.

From an empty wall to the focal point of the room - this one turned out beautifully.
