Two Rivers Gallery is a vital centre for visual art in Northern BC dedicated to lifelong learning through the arts.

We believe in vigorous artistic and cultural expression and offer diverse experiences for participation through our exhibitions & programs. Two Rivers Gallery proudly sits on the traditional, unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh. Operated by the Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association, the Gallery serves the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, which includes the traditional territories of the McLeod Lake Indian Band, Lheidli T’enneh First Nation and Simpcw First Nation. The regional district consists of approximately 100,000 people across seven electoral areas and four municipalities, including Prince George with a population of 79,000. Two Rivers Gallery is contracted to provide services to the entire regional district and each year we travel with outreach programs and an exhibition to the District of Mackenzie (two hours to the north), the Village of Valemount (three hours to the east) and the Village of McBride (two hours to the east). The geographical area we serve is 51,083 ㎢ which is just shy of that of Nova Scotia. The name Two Rivers Gallery derives from the confluence of the two main waterways in the region, the Nechako and Fraser Rivers. Two Rivers Gallery is located within the city of Prince George, in Central British Columbia, nine hours north of Vancouver. Prince George, once considered a logging town, is a service centre for the northern half of the province. The next nearest public art gallery of comparable size and scope is five and a half hours away by car, and as a result Two Rivers Gallery is the main venue for experiencing contemporary art for the regional community.

Join us for the opening reception of White Noise, featuring works by Krystle Silverfox and Annie MacDonell, on Thursday, October 29 at 7:30 pm.

The evening will include artist talks followed by a Q&A, light refreshments, and an opportunity to connect through art and conversation. Free & open to all ages!

White Noise brings together Annie MacDonell and Krystle Silverfox, two artists whose practices examine how meaning is shaped through images, conditions of viewing, cultural forms, histories, and the contexts in which they are encountered. Working through different media and artistic approaches, both artists question established ways of seeing and draw attention to what may be obscured, excluded, reframed, or transformed through representation. We wanted to highlight the sculpture installation created by Izzy Georgoulas for this years National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, for those who didn't get a chance to see it in person.

Here's what Izzy had to say about her work: "My name is Izzy Georgoulas. I am a Greek, Cree, and Sekani artist who enjoys experimenting, exploring, and discovering new ways to work with materials.

For this piece, I created a material I call “liquid paper.” I take something as simple as recycled, shredded paper and transform it using white glue and acrylic painting to a material I can draw with. Using a squeeze bottle, I slowly build the piece by hand, one line at a time.

There is no perfect line and no exact way to control the material. The process takes patience, experimentation, and a willingness to let the work unfold naturally.

At the centre of this piece is the word LOVE. I chose this word because it is simple, yet it can hold so much meaning. Love can represent connection, family, culture, kindness, respect, healing, and belonging.

When I think about Truth and Reconciliation, I think about how we treat one another, how we listen to one another, and how we carry these important conversations forward with care and respect.

Creating the word LOVE from discarded pieces of paper also carries meaning for me. Each piece of paper has its own shape and its own history, but when those individual pieces come together, they become part of something larger and something new.

In many ways, that reflects what this piece is about: connection, transformation, and the possibility of creating something meaningful together."

A HUGE heartfelt shout-out to Jen Rubadeau and D & D Contracting!

Mahsi Cho for your generosity and willingness to give your time to have the beautiful wooden stands constructed for the Orange Handprint Banner Project. Your support is a beautiful reminder that reconciliation is not just about words, but about meaningful actions, kindness and community coming together.

This banner is so much more than a piece of art. It is a powerful symbol of unity, remembrance, allyship, and reconciliation. Year after year, it continues to grow through community involvement, bringing people together to reflect, learn, honour, and stand alongside one another on the journey toward Truth and Reconciliation.

For me personally, seeing this meaningful project finally displayed properly is incredibly emotional and something I have hoped for for a long time. Every orange handprint carries meaning, and every person who has contributed has become part of something much bigger. This banner can now stand proudly and be seen in the way it deserves.
