Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income.

The Libby app team is saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.
Dolly was a beloved artist and cultural icon, but perhaps just as importantly, she was a lifelong champion of literacy and the belief that everyone deserves access to books. Through the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, she helped put books into the hands of children in communities across the globe and inspired generations of young readers to discover the joy of reading.
Today, we’re taking a quiet moment to read in Dolly’s memory and to celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind.
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to provide a quick update on the Killick Coast Imagination Library. Unfortunately Junes books will be the last mailed. Thank you so much for the support over the last 5 years, we have helped get so many books into the hands of children to help their imaginations grow.
Please reach out to your members of Government to let them know how much the Dolly Parton Imagination has meant to you! If they know about it and the positive impact it has had on families, they may be encouraged to help with some funding in the future.

We are thrilled to share that funding for the Imagination Library has been reinstated by the government!
This moment belongs to our entire community! Parents, partners, and supporters spoke up loud and clear and it made all the difference!
Thank you for showing just how much this program matters for our youngest learners.
We also want to sincerely thank Hon. Robin Croucher, Department of Education and Early Year, for rethinking this decision and recognizing the importance of early literacy for Island children. This renewed commitment will make a meaningful impact for families across PEI.
Today, we celebrate but we also look ahead.
To keep the program strong, accessible, and reaching 4,000+ children each year, we still rely on community support.
With government funding in place, we’re confident we can raise the additional funds needed through donations and partnerships.
Together, we’ve shown what’s possible. Let’s keep it going. Thank you for all of your support! 📚💗📚
