As we wrap up costume sizing, a reminder that Performing Arts costume deposits are due by November 1st. Invoices were emailed out last week to all Rising Stars and Level 1-5 dancers.

September brought us new faces, familiar faces, and so many moments of accomplishment right from the get go!

Our September Recreational Dancers of the Month are being celebrated for the energy, effort, and beautiful smiles they bring into the studio. They jumped right into the season with enthusiasm and a love of dance and that’s our favourite thing to see!

As outlined in our October newsletter, a reminder that all classes are running today - Monday, October 12th - at their regular times. Thank you from G2D!

We are so excited to officially announce that Miss Anna will be joining our G2D teaching team this season, helping us with extra number choreography. 🙌🏻

Anna’s love for dance began at the age of three, and at seven years old, she began her training at Got 2 Dance. Throughout her years at the studio, she discovered not only a passion for dancing and performing, but also a love for teaching. She also joined Maddox Dance Company during the summer, where she discovered a love for creative expression and contemporary movement. She spent every moment she could in the studio, either training or teaching younger students, until graduating in 2018.

Eager to continue growing as a dancer and performer, Anna moved to Vancouver to train at Harbour Dance Centre, where she took weekly classes from top choreographers. Inspired to further expand her training, she joined their Intensive Training Program and eventually their Alumni Training Program. During her time at Harbour Dance Centre, she had opportunities to create choreography that challenged her artistic expression and to perform for large events and audiences like WE Day at Roger’s Arena.

Her passion for performing led her to join the BC Lions Dance Team. Here she developed an appreciation for teamwork and connection. Her favourite part was performing for large audiences and connecting with fans every week, on the football field and off of it at various community events.

Always looking for new ways to grow as an artist, Anna expanded her training into acting, which led to opportunities in short films and music videos. After her time in Vancouver, she found herself missing the community of her hometown and made her way back to Ponoka.

Anna is beyond excited to return to where her dance journey began at Got 2 Dance. She can’t wait to share her love of dance, performance, and creativity with the next generation of students.

It’s that time of year! We are sizing for costumes in both our recreational and Performing Arts programs. Rec and Rising Star costumes will arrive before the Christmas Recital, and dancers will wear these costumes for both the Christmas and year-end shows. PA costumes will be distributed in the New Year.

Most classes, with the exception of hip hop, will be sized by trying on a sizing leotard. We request that parents/guardians from the following classes be present for costume sizing to assist instructors if necessary in determining what size fits your dancer best:

• Movers & Groovers
• Rising Stars Ballet & Jazz

Performing Arts costume deposits are due by November 1st. Please check the October newsletter for details - invoices will be distributed this week for those who haven’t already sent in payment.

Performing Arts dancers interested in a solo, duet, trio, or small group extra number this season - sign-up forms are due by September 30th.

All submissions will be reviewed by G2D instructors for approval. Once that process is complete, practices will begin in October.
