This playful little bear, "Roly-Poly", was carved by artist Les Dunlop from African Wonderstone and polished in beeswax.
One of the most agile bears around, he curls up to grab his toes--captured in a way that makes him seem ready to wiggle right out of the stone!
The smooth, rounded forms give the carving a lovely sense of movement—and make it hard to believe it was carved by hand.
If you're interested in the puchase of Mr. Poly, you can find his pricing and contact information at lloydgallery.com!

Val Eibner is a local fused glass artist who has been part of the Okanagan arts community for years, spending her time both creating and teaching in her medium.
We love the way she brings glass together---she makes work that feels both imaginative and connected to the landscape. This piece is titled "The View of Earth from Space (Mercury)", and hangs 32x13" tall in the gallery's front window.
It catches the light beautifully, and different times of day help it give off entirely different colours. Incredible! Come by The Lloyd Gallery to see the piece in person—we’d love to know what you think!

Raised in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, Angie McIntosh (sometimes known as Angie Roth McIntosh on art) draws inspiration from the valley's landscapes and outdoor way of life.
Her story started during her early studies in medicine, when Angie discovered painting through a summer program for rural doctors. She observed art therapists as they came to lead sessions, which ended up influincing Angie to pick up a paintbrush herself! The craft struck her, and passion drove her to leave med school and pursue art full time.
In 1987, Angie then travelled to China for three months where the travel gave her the opportunity to develop her art through local lessons and worshops. Her travels were a big part of the beginning of her practice, and today her work reflects a lasting impression of the Okanagan's beauty.
An impressionistic, expressive and colourful style, Angie's work is very unique, portraying an equal amount of feeling and energy as they do to depict the landscapes.
This piece is titled "Sunset at the Lake" and is an Acrylic on Canvas, standing at 36 inches tall and 24 wide. See Angie's page at lloydgallery.com for pricing.
We have been wanting to share a little bit about our iconic Empress Theater location here in downtown Penticton-- did you know our building is 112 years old?? The location started out as a silent pictures movie theater in 1914, and we wish we could have seen it in its prime!

A long-time Penticton resident and retired educator, Viv McElgunn-Lieskovsky brings a wealth of experience and a lifelong passion for creativity to every piece she creates!
Viv's work is deeply inspired by the constant, fleeting light that contrasts with the natural world—a theme that, through colour blocking, captures life’s subtle and ever-changing evolution. We’re thrilled to feature "Life on the Edge IV & V" a diptych that highlights the rugged beauty of our Okanagan landscapes through her signature style.
If you would like to see these paintings hung on your wall, we also do free virtual hangings! Just send us a picture of your wall and we will send it right back, paintings hung.
What do you think of this style? Isn't it unique?

Cheryl Peddie is a Calgary-based artist known for both her love of light and her love of painting en plein air.
Her collection here at the gallery is pretty special too as they include quite a few local urban scenes, inluding this lovely piece "Yellow Awning", an 8x10" oil on board portraying the shop (actually directly across from the gallery) called Tangent Home and Gifts!
Cheryl has done many scenic shots around Penticton if you're into these urban scenes, including the Blenz Coffee Shop on Main and the Samosa Express, a staple at the saturday markets! You can view more of her charming pieces and plein air work on her page at lloydgallery.com
