I've gained a bunch of new followers in the last few months. I've even gotten recognized in the community a few times. "You're the girl that owns the store in the mall...."

That's me. This is my business. I do it alone but not exactly alone. I have a bunch of vendors who sell local handmade stuff in my store Heritage Place Shopping Centre who also help out at the storefront.

I've been doing this for almost 4 years now. I started it as a pop up with a friend and then I had a store in downtown here for 16 months. Than I was just online for 9 months before I made another leap of faith and opened a storefront in our local mall.

My first venture in entrepreneurship was when I was 37 years old. Just a few months after giving birth I opened up an indoor playground. 6 months into it Covid happened. I ended up having to close that a year later and that was devastating especially after taking several loans to try and keep it open.

That probably should have been it for my entrepreneurial journey but it kept going. (Cause guess I'm a sucker for punishment or I don't like having a boss or I'm a hopeless dreamer or all the above.)

As hard as these last few years have been, I'm so grateful for all the incredible humans I've met. I've had so many amazing conversations with like-minded people. People who care about the planet, people with big hearts and strong convictions.

My regulars keep asking me what I'm going to do in the new year. To be honest. At the end of this year the CEBA loan I took all those years ago is coming for me and that may financially ruin me. I was hoping the governments would give us more time but they aren't despite the economy being what it's been for years now. So the answer is always. " I'm praying for a miracle "
