🦃🍂 HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM ALL OF US AT THE CLINIC! 🍂🦃

Gobble 'til you wobble… but please make sure your pets don’t! 😂🐶🐱

As we gather around the table to enjoy turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and all the yummy holiday treats, our furry family members may be planning their own Thanksgiving feast — usually by staring into our souls until we share. 👀🥺

Before you give in to those adorable puppy-dog eyes, here are a few Thanksgiving safety tips to keep your pets happy and healthy! 🧡🐾

🍗 TURKEY TALK: A little plain, boneless, skinless, fully cooked turkey may be okay for some pets, but skip the skin, gravy, butter, and seasonings!

🧅 NO STUFFING FOR FLUFFY! Onions, garlic, and other seasonings can be harmful to pets. Keep stuffing and seasoned side dishes off their plates.

🍇 KEEP THESE OFF THE MENU: Grapes, raisins, chocolate, alcohol, and anything containing xylitol can be dangerous for pets.

🦴 BONES ARE A BIG NO-NO! Cooked turkey bones can splinter and cause serious injuries. Put leftovers and bones straight into a secure garbage bin before your four-legged garbage disposal gets to them! 😂

🥧 DESSERT IS FOR HUMANS: Rich, fatty foods and sugary treats can upset your pet’s stomach and may even trigger pancreatitis. Sorry, Fido — no pumpkin pie with whipped cream! 🎃

🚪 WATCH THE GREAT ESCAPE: With guests coming and going, keep an eye on doors and make sure your pets have a quiet, safe place to relax away from the holiday chaos.

🦃 THE BEST LEFTOVERS? Extra walks, belly rubs, and family cuddles! ❤️🐾

From our veterinary family to yours, we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love, laughter, delicious food, and absolutely NO emergency trips ! 💚

What is your pet thankful for this Thanksgiving? Wrong answers only… we’re guessing the entire turkey! 😂👇

🐾 Thanksgiving Pet Safety Tips 🐾

🍗 Skip the table scraps! Fatty foods, bones, gravy, onions, garlic, and heavily seasoned foods can turn Thanksgiving dinner into an unwanted trip to the vet!

🦃 Turkey for your turkey? A small amount of plain, fully cooked, boneless turkey may be okay—but skip the skin, gravy, and seasoning.

🥧 Keep desserts away! Chocolate, grapes/raisins, and xylitol can be dangerous for pets. And yes, we know those puppy-dog eyes are powerful… but Grandma's entire pumpkin pie is NOT a pet treat. 😂

🗑️ Secure the garbage! Turkey bones and food scraps can be VERY tempting—and potentially dangerous.

🌿 Watch the decorations! Curious cats and festive puppies may find candles, plants, and decorations much more exciting than we do!

🚪 Watch the door! With guests coming and going, make sure your pets don't make a great Thanksgiving escape. Your dog does NOT need to go on a neighborhood tour. 😂🐕

❤️ Give your pets a safe, quiet place to relax, plenty of love, and maybe a pet-approved Thanksgiving treat!

🚨 EMERGENCY?
If your pet has an emergency while we are closed, please contact Capital City Emergency Veterinary Hospital at 506-447-8387.

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Today, we pause to honour the Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts of residential schools on Indigenous peoples, families, and communities.

As a veterinary clinic and part of our community, we believe that listening, learning, and building respectful relationships are important steps toward reconciliation. 🧡

Today and every day, we reflect on the truth, honour Indigenous voices and experiences, and commit to continuing our journey of learning and understanding.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

🧡

🌸🐾 Say hello to Tilly! 🐾🌸

This adorable little baby Cairn Terrier came to visit us for her vaccines, and we’re pretty sure she stole a few hearts along the way! 🥹💕🐶

Tilly was the perfect little patient and handled her visit like a champ! 💉✨ Between those sweet eyes, fluffy face, and tiny puppy paws, it was hard not to give her ALL the cuddles. 🥰🐾

🐾🌎 World Rabies Day 🌎🐾

Today, we’re raising awareness about rabies and the importance of protecting our pets, our families, and our communities. ❤️🐶🐱

Rabies is a serious and potentially fatal disease that can affect mammals — including our beloved dogs and cats. The good news? Vaccination is one of the best ways to protect your pets and help prevent the spread of rabies. 💉🐾

🐕 Keep your pet’s rabies vaccine up to date
🐈 Follow your veterinarian’s recommendations for boosters
🌎 Avoid contact with unfamiliar or wild animals
📞 If your pet has been exposed to a potentially rabid animal, contact your veterinarian promptly

A simple vaccine can provide lifelong peace of mind and help keep our community safer. 🩷🐾

Let’s work together to keep those tails wagging and those purrs going! 🐕🐈✨

Happy World Rabies Day! 🌎🐾💙
