Flags will be lowered to half-mast at Halton Regional facilities in honour of our colleague Russell (Russ) McCrae, who recently passed away.
Russ served Halton Region as a Senior Inspector in Public Works since 2007, helping residents and businesses across our community. He was also a longtime coach and mentor in Burlington’s hockey community.
Our thoughts are with Russ’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.
For Manpreet Kaur, moving to Canada opened the door to a rewarding new career in early learning. 💛
Manpreet knew she was interested in working with children. She completed a two-year Early Childhood Education diploma and is now in a career she loves at Wee Ones Childcare Academy—one of the many child care operators Halton Region is proud to support.
For Manpreet, one of the most rewarding parts of being a Registered Early Childhood Educator is working with toddlers to teach them new skills, celebrate their milestones and help them grow each day. 🌱
Could a career in early learning and child care be part of your story too?

September 30 is also , inspired by the story of Phyllis Webstad—a powerful reminder that Every Child Matters.
This day calls on all of us to reflect, learn, and take meaningful action toward Reconciliation. At Halton Region, we are committed to building respectful relationships with First Nations, Indigenous Communities and Peoples and advance the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.

🏠 Access to affordable housing plays an important role in the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities.
Nearly one in four Halton households spends more than 30 per cent of its income on housing—a commonly used measure of housing affordability.
By monitoring local data, we can better understand the pressures residents are experiencing and how our community’s needs are changing.
Through our Halton Region Community Investment Fund, we also invest in nonprofit programs and services that respond to local needs.
