Belonging must be built into every school. 💯
Inclusion BC is calling for school inclusion plans, coordinated supports through the Child Wellbeing Plan, meaningful career planning and work experience, fully accessible playgrounds, strong transition support, and an end to physical restraint and seclusion.
These actions can help ensure students with disabilities learn alongside their peers and have real opportunities to thrive. Read the full position statement and share it with others to highlight the message that every student belongs in our schools.

Students with intellectual and developmental disabilities continue to face barriers that limit their right to education—from partial-day schedules and segregated programs to low expectations, inaccessible playgrounds, gaps in staffing and training, restraint and seclusion, and complex appeal processes.
Families should not have to advocate school by school for rights already recognized in law. Read Inclusion BC’s position statement to learn what must change, and share it to help build momentum for inclusive education across BC.
