Yesterday we welcomed some new members to the family but before I introduce them I really want you guys to know why I've been putting of this post for so long. How can you describe such a tragedy? So before I make another post about the beautiful new additions please let's talk about these 2 heros.. It was so difficult for me seeing the family for the first time since the accident so put yourselves in their shoes and please hold your love ones and furbabies extra tight

🕊️💔 SOME HEROES HAVE FOUR PAWS. THEIR NAMES WERE KAI & WINSTON. 💔🕊️

There are some stories that are incredibly difficult to write. Stories that break your heart, bring tears to your eyes, and remind you just how deeply animals love their families.

Today, I want to share a story that will forever hold a special place in my heart. This is the story of Kai and Winston. Two beautiful German Shepherd mixes. Two beloved family members. Two souls who will never be forgotten. ❤️🐾

As many of you know, here at The Mobile Pet Care Project, I don't just provide services to animals. Over the years, I've had the privilege of getting to know so many wonderful pets and the families who love them. Some of my clients have been with me since the very beginning of my business, and their animals become familiar faces that I look forward to seeing every time I visit.

This family was one of my very first.

I had the privilege of microchipping their beloved animals, including Kai and Winston. I knew their faces, their names, and the place they held in their family's heart. I was even supposed to return to microchip a litter of precious kittens.

But then, an unimaginable tragedy happened. 💔

Their home was struck by a devastating fire.

In a matter of moments, a family lost most of their beloved animals, including the kittens I had been looking forward to meeting and microchipping. My heart breaks for everything this family has endured, and there are simply no words that can make a loss like this any easier.

But there is one part of this story that I believe deserves to be told, remembered, and honoured.

That part is Kai and Winston. 🕊️

On that terrible day, the family's son was home sick from school. As the fire unfolded, Kai and Winston barked, waking him up and alerting him to the danger.

Their barking gave him the chance to wake up, escape through a window, and save some of the other animals.

Think about that for a moment.

In the middle of a terrifying emergency, these two beloved dogs raised the alarm. Their boy was able to get out. He even tried desperately to pull Kai and Winston through the window with him, but the two dogs were too frightened to make it out.

Heartbreakingly, Kai and Winston did not survive the fire. 💔😭

I cannot begin to imagine the pain of that moment, or the heartbreak their family continues to carry. I wish with all my heart that the ending had been different. I wish those two beautiful souls could have made it out, too.

We will never know exactly what Kai and Winston were thinking that day. But we do know what happened: they barked, they woke their boy, and their warning helped give him the opportunity to escape.

Their story deserves to be remembered not only for the lives lost, but for the life their actions helped protect. ❤️

Kai was a beautiful girl. Winston was a handsome boy. They were not simply pets who happened to live in a house. They were family. They were loved. They mattered. And their lives mattered far beyond the day they were taken.

Today, I wanted to do something special for their mom. I wanted to create a memorial that would bring these two beautiful souls together again, at least in a photograph, and honour the place they will always hold in their family's story.

To their mom and family: I am so sorry for the heartbreak you have endured. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your animals' lives. I may have come into your home as a veterinary technician, but the years of knowing your family have made this loss personal to me, too.

And to Kai and Winston, wherever your paws have taken you now, I hope this little tribute honours the beautiful lives you lived and the love you gave.

You will always be remembered. You will always matter. And your story will not be forgotten. 🕊️🐾❤️
Some heroes wear uniforms. Some wear capes. And some have four paws, beautiful souls, and a bark that wakes the ones they love.

And finally today we welcome these 2 beauties to our family 🩷🩵🐾 this is Piper and Snoopy. Piper was a bit nervous but did extremely well, and Snoopy is very used to being groomed so he just sat there while I trimmed his nails 😆 and I don't know who his groomer is and I hope the owner feels the same but I absolutely LOVE the Mohawk and I hope they keep it 😉😉

Welcome these 2 boys to the family today, this is Chance and his little Boston Terrier brother is Theo, they both did amazing today as well but not ready for the dremmel yet and that's ok, no pressure guys lol

We have alot of new faces today to welcome, let's start off with this beautiful lady, this is Daizy, she did so terrific, just layed next to her owner and even slept while I dremmeled. Amazing lol, good job Daizy and welcome to the family 🩷🐾

I know I'm late and I definitely didn't celebrate your birthday the way we had planned it lol but also your mama didn't plan on having a pretty bad accident Thursday leaving me in bed all weekend so we had to split up the festivities but despite the rain and some other hardships today we got it done and a huge thank you to Pawsitive Daycare for making my boy's birthday the best, both of my dogs are very different and while people and Teddy Bears are Zoey's thing, Dogs and food are definitely Koda's things lol so Happy Birthday my handsome boy, I love you so so much and I'm happy you enjoyed your day and met some new friends 🩵🐾🐾🎉🎉🎉

Alrighty let's have a bit of a chat about your dogs bum 🤪🤪 and the glorious a**l glands 🤢 now A**l Glands are basically an evolutionary tool for scent marking and communication...that's pretty much it lol. Now there was a post recently about someone looking for a nail trim and someone recommended me (thank you by the way 🫶🏼) and they put my flyer that I have that shows all my services and like always and with the Halloween season among us the little keyboard trolls come out, sadly the post was removed so fast that I didn't have a chance to take a screenshot lol 🤦🏼‍♀️ but someone who posted anonymously of course said that it's in fact illegal for a Veterinary Technician to preform a**l gland expression and Microchipping without the presence of a Vet lol... Sigh... Alright now.. when I first did my studies as a Veterinary Assistant we did not learn to do this and therefore it wouldn't be something that I would now offer if I was only a Veterinary Assistant but then when I studied as a Veterinary Technician we were taught the proper way to do it and I'm extremely knowledgeable and definitely experienced in it now. With that being said, what I do is ROUTINE a**l gland expressions only!!! If the glands are infected or if I feel that they are going to become infected or abscessed then I will not touch them and will advise to seek a vet immediately!! Now when it comes to Microchipping.. well anyone can microchip lol literally anyone, breeders often do their dogs themselves, rescues and shelters do it themselves, it's the same as giving an injection under the skin so it's not an invasive or a surgical procedure, it's not done under sedation so a Vet is not needed and it's perfectly legal to do if you were taught or know how to do it properly, it's pretty simple. But of course I had an amazing teacher 🥰🥰 So I haven't had one of these trolls in a while so I decided to address it for fun and even if you google it the answer is right there so maybe the person then googled and removed their post 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't know but please find something better to do with your time, I wouldn't offer services that I'm not trained to preform as all of your animals are just like my animals and I don't treat them any differently, they are family 🫶🏼💜🐾

I lost the picture last time but thankfully I found it and I saw her again today, but this is Piper and she joins our family with Bliss and Tia 🥰🥰 she's a cutie and handles the nails and dremmel like a champ 🏆

Look at this beautiful girl who joins our family today 😍 this is Bella, she is very very scared when it comes to her nails getting done so it's going to be a process to get her desensitized to it but thankfully I was at least able to get them all done, it was definitely not at my standards that I would like but sometimes slow and steady wins the race so it's going to take time and patience with this young girl but she's only going to get better and better with time. I have complete faith in her and her owner 🫶🏼💜🐾

I wanted out of respect to wait a while before posting because I know that he sees every single post on my page but this one hurts a lot, it was definitely sudden and unexpected. Puff was such a sweet and beautiful cat and I know he absolutely loved to play with his dog sister Bambi and I know that Bambi just like his owners miss his terribly and this is the worse part of my job, is never being able to say goodbye 😭💔 I hope that all the beautiful pets are up there know that I miss them all and I'm sorry for not being able to say goodbye and please watch down on your owners and give them strength during this hard time, this is the worse part about being a pet owner but I'll always remember each of you strongly and I love you so so much
