Did you know Ontario's film and television industry creates opportunities for businesses far beyond the screen?
Join Tom Strnad from the South Georgian Bay Media Association for Be a Film Friendly Business, a session exploring how businesses can tap into Ontario's multi-billion-dollar screen-based production industry. Learn what productions look for in local partners, how to make a strong first impression, and how becoming "film-friendly" can create new business opportunities and revenue streams.
With more than 25 years of experience in film, television, and media production, Tom brings a wealth of industry knowledge as a producer, post-production supervisor, researcher, and co-owner of Mountain Goat Film Company Inc. His work has been supported by organizations including Telefilm Canada, the National Film Board, and Ontario Creates, and his films have screened at festivals worldwide.
Whether you're a business owner, tourism operator, or community leader, this session will provide practical insights into attracting and supporting film production in your region.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the Survivors of Residential and Day Schools, their families, and their communities. We also remember the children who never returned home.
Reconciliation is a shared responsibility, and each of us has a role to play. We encourage everyone to take time to learn about the history and ongoing impacts of Residential and Day Schools, and to reflect on the truths that continue to shape communities today.
Here in our region, we are fortunate to have access to many organizations, cultural spaces, and community resources that can support learning, reflection, and deeper understanding on the path toward Reconciliation:
