The past week is one we won’t soon forget.
When the Guichon Creek wildfire moved dangerously close to Highland House Ranch, we were forced to evacuate quickly, with no certainty about what we would return to. It was a stressful and emotional time, but we are incredibly grateful to share that everyone is safe, our horses were evacuated out without quickly , and our ranch was spared.
We are deeply thankful to the BC Wildfire Service, the Logan Lake Fire Department, and all of the firefighters and first responders whose tireless efforts have kept our community safe. The evacuation alert has since been rescinded, and the fire is now being held—an outcome we owe entirely to their dedication and courage. ❤️
To everyone who reached out with messages, phone calls, and offers of help—thank you. Your kindness and support meant more than words can express. A very special thank you as well to Kelly Kennedy and Sageview Ranch in Kamloops for their support during the evacuation and for providing a safe place for us to stay.
As you scroll through these photos, you’ll see just how close the fire came. They serve as a powerful reminder of both the fragility of what we have and the strength of the community that surrounds us.
Today, we are relieved and grateful to share that Highland House Ranch is back to operating business as usual. The horses are settled, the ranch is peaceful once again, and we are looking forward to welcoming back our returning guests as well as meeting new ones planning their visit.

Highland House Ranch BnB (3 km from Logan Lake) is seeking a detail‑driven, professional cleaner to support our guest turnover operations.
Shifts are 2–4 hours, scheduled according to guest check‑out dates.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has high standards for cleanliness and attention to detail
* Can complete full turnovers, including bed‑making
* Is comfortable with physical work
* Enjoys flexible, part‑time hours
* Must be dependable and take initiative
This role is ideal for someone retired, semi‑retired, or looking for a few steady hours each week.
