What a great night we had celebrating Dolly! We read one of her first books from the Imagination Library - “The Little Engine that Could”. We shared the book as a group with various participants reading a couple of pages each. Everyone made a book page butterfly - Butterflies for Dolly. We placed them around our Dolly display. We had a delicious “pink” cake and drinks for lunch and everyone went home with a favour with a quote from Dolly attached! What an awesome, heartwarming night 💕📖

Thank you to everyone who made this night so special! 💕

Our desk goose, Paige Turner is all ready to celebrate “Pink Day for Dolly” at the library 💕

If you registered for this event, we will start at 6:30 pm. We can’t wait to celebrate Dolly’s contribution to literacy in young children through her imagination library. Lots of children in our community and surrounding area have received these books as well 📖💕

Pink Day for Dolly

Dolly Parton was a friend to all libraries and we would like to recognize her life/love of books by having a celebration! We will be reading one of her books from the Imagination Library collection, making book page butterflies to decorate our library (Butterflies for Dolly), and having a “pink” themed lunch! Please wear pink if you can 💕

Please join us on Thursday, September 24 at 6:30 pm to help us celebrate! This event is open to all ages both young and old. If you wish to attend, please contact the library 📚
