On February 14, 2021, Anago (Non) Residential Resources Inc. (Anago) and WAYS Mental Health Support (WAYS) unified to become Humana Community Services.

Social services agency supporting individuals and families with a focus on child and youth mental health, transition-age housing and supportive living for adults with developmental disabilities. Through unification, we combine over 100 years of history delivering high-quality services and support for children, youth and adults with complex needs and their families/caregivers. Collectively, we are known for providing crisis support; personalized mental health services; supports for community participation and transition to independent living, and safe, therapeutic, educational environments where at-risk children, youth and vulnerable adults are able to connect, grow and thrive. Humana Community Services will continue to support individuals facing a wide-range of challenges including trauma; social, emotional or behavioural problems; mental health issues; developmental challenges; sexual exploitation; unstable housing; homelessness and conflict with the law. Building on our strong foundation, we will enhance our programs, improve coordination, and develop family navigation services to meet the changing needs of those we serve.

🧑 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, we wear orange to honour the Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous families and communities.

Today is an opportunity to listen, learn, reflect, and commit to building relationships grounded in respect, understanding, and action. 🧑

Did you know that "on average, women spend four more hours per week caring for adults and eight more hours per week caring for children, in comparison to men. This means women have less time to be able to work full-time, earn more money throughout their careers, or even just take a break." Facts, stats, and impact: Gender equality, 2026, Government of Canada.

This gender equality week, it's important to highlight the gaps and inequalities women and minorities are still facing in 2026. Have important conversations and be advocates for yourself and others.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. Knowing the warning signs of someone thinking about su***de can be key to early intervention. The American Association of Suicidology has developed a simple acronym to help you remember warning signs for su***de: β€œIS PATH WARM.”

I - Ideation (suicidal thoughts)
S - Substance abuse

P - Purposelessness
A - Anxiety
T - Trapped
H - Hopelessness/helplessness

If you recognize any of these signs, take your friend, family member, or loved one to the nearest emergency department if it is safe to do so. Call 911 if they are planning to or in the middle of an attempt. Do not leave the individual alone.

Navigating a mental health crisis can be difficult. Please reach out for support for you or your loved ones through a crisis line.
