Established in 2000 by two NSCAD graduates, Andrew Danylewich and Julie (Babin) Danylewich, ADJA calls a small coastal town in Nova Scotia home. The ocean’s influence is apparent in many pieces through colour, theme, form, or function
Andrew produces one of a kind and small production run jewellery on site in a variety of materials from silver, copper, found objects to gold and gemstone pieces. His work can be found in private collections across North America , Europe and as far away as New Zealand, including the private collection of former Governor General of Canada Adrienne Clarkson. Andrew has just had a piece included in the Lark Books puplication 500 Necklace and has been recognized by the Nova Scotia Government for his contribution to art and craft in the province (April 3rd 2013 resolution #108)
ADJA also carries the work of other local artists and artisans including painting, ceramics, wood work, photography and fiber arts.

In my opinion, a confident brush stroke will always be better than trying to get the perfect brush stroke. This applies to all things in life. Perfection is an unattainable illusion that sets impossible standards, masking a fear of failure. Chasing perfection leads to burnout, anxiety and inaction. Embracing flaws allows genuine growth and resilience.

I don’t usually do paintings on commission but I did this one a few years ago ago for a friend and special couple. He brought it in for a coat of varnish, I’m still pleased how it turned out.
