A special thank you to one of our major sponsors, Royal LePage Nanaimo Realty Ladysmith Branch, for their generous support of Ladysmith Oktoberfest! We’re so grateful to have local businesses like this step up to support our events and our community.

A note from their team:

Located in the heart of Ladysmith, our local team is here to help with all your real estate needs; whether you’re buying your first home, selling, looking for an investment property, or simply exploring your options for the future.

As a locally established real estate office, we’re proud to be part of the Ladysmith community and to work alongside the people, businesses, and organizations that make this such a special place to call home. We believe that being a REALTOR® is about more than real estate - it’s about building relationships, supporting our community, and helping our neighbours find the right place to call home.

We look forward to serving the community for years to come.

Helping You Is What We Do™

The LDBA Bunch, in partnership with Bayview Brewing Company, would like to send a HUGE thank you to all of our incredible sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who came out to celebrate with us!

Thanks to all of you, our 4th Annual Ladysmith Oktoberfest was a huge success. We truly couldn’t put on an event like this without the support of our amazing community, and the best part is that all funds raised go right back into supporting our community.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored, volunteered, attended, dressed up, raised a stein, danced, and helped make this glorious event what it is. Prost! 🍻

The Ladysmith Downtown Business Association would like to provide some clarification regarding our recent members meeting and the attendance of candidates for Ladysmith Council.

This was a regularly scheduled LDBA members meeting and was not organized or promoted as an all-candidates event. Several candidates proactively approached the LDBA and asked for an opportunity to attend one of our meetings to hear directly from downtown business owners. We were happy to facilitate that opportunity.

When asked whether the meeting was open to other candidates, we made it clear that it was. No candidate was intentionally excluded, nor was the attendance of these candidates intended to indicate an endorsement or preference by the LDBA.

In hindsight, we recognize that proactively extending the same invitation to all declared candidates would have avoided any perception of preferential treatment. We appreciate the feedback and will take that into consideration when organizing similar opportunities in the future.

The LDBA remains non-partisan. Our role is to advocate for our members, create opportunities for local businesses to have their voices heard, and encourage constructive dialogue with those seeking public office.

The LDBA, together with the Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce, will also be hosting the official All Candidates Forum on September 29, where all candidates will have an equal opportunity to participate.
