At AIH, our focus is to make you a better skater so you can become a better complete player. Each player learns in a different way and AIH thrives on making sure each player progresses each and every ice time. We want players to learn a skill and be able to transfer that straight into a game right away. Skating is always a focus, but stick handling, shooting and hockey iq are all taught. It’s not just about learning a skill, but how you can use that in a game is what’s critical in the development process. How much time does a player actually get of one on one skills development during hockey practice? Maybe a couple minutes and then it is on to the next player or drill. Compared to practices or schools, All In Hockey will have a smaller group of players, which will allow for better training and more focus on each player. Tryouts are around the corner … some of us have already been through them and the season has started!
Here’s a few thing to keep in mind. You play the game without the puck more than you do with it. What are you doing the rest of the game though ? Be disruptive
Play defense
Back check
Compete and win puck battles.

HOCKEY MINDSET
There’s a lot that goes into being ready for your season. Being mentally prepared is one of the most important though.
Controlling what you can control will help prepare you, stay focused and be able to move through a game efficiently.
If the things outside your circle take ahold of you before, during or after a game, then you need to work on your hockey mindset.
A couple main ones for me are

Preparation
Coachability
Effort

That’s a wrap! Thank you everyone for your support once again. What a great 5 days for these players. Lots of new players once again from Kitimat and Terrace.
Cant wait to see everyone at the rink and stay connected.
